Track sounds

The SMS sound system in MSTS 1 has been quite well understood for some time, but there are still new things being learned as well as a wealth of information about what's already known that you can learn here.

Hi WSR2005

Track Sound Region Flange Squeal sounds are placed in the desired route using the Route Editor.

The wagon and coach sounds are placed in the sound statement of the wag files.

These sounds really do make the routes come alive.

If you already have Railwaves track sounds, edit the ttype.dat file to accomodate the sounds above, mix and match until you get the sounds which appeal to you.

Kindest regards

Is there a need to download all these files? Or just the modern set is needed if I use only modern trains?
And are the Railwaves sound worth to be bought? Or the previous files are good enough?

Thanks

Go to the main Railwaves site and you can listen to a a demo of their soundsets... I personally have both the modern track sounds and railwaves on my routes..
