Missing Trackside sounds

have downloaded some new routes and locos. I have noticed that when I run them, I get no trackside sounds, especially horns, in the (3) and (4) views. Why does this happen, and how do I fix it?

hmmm, hard to say. The only thing that comes to mind is maybe there are too many sounds loaded up, so based on the priorities set in the sms files, some do not play.

To narrow it down:

Have you tried the sound tweak here?

If not, try it and see if that makes a difference.

Otherwise, I usually go to the sound test interface

to see if the the correct sms files are even loaded. If not, then the problem probably lies with the eng or wag files of the stock. If the sms files are there but cannot be heard, then it's beyond my limited abilities to diagnose.
