that annoying error message

The MSTS Activity Editor allows you to make your own activities, or missions, for the player to complete. This is also how you can get lots of other trains running while you drive yours!

that annoying error message

Post by XPTE »

As mentioned in the posting I just made on the other thread, I have test drove my activty, and then after just 15 minutes into the drive I get that annoying error message asking me to send/dont send. This is very frustrating. Any idea why I'm getting this error message anyone? Cheers.

Thanks for that suggestion. Even though I had some static conists(only about 4), they were a good mile or so behind. I had the static consists around the Hornsey area, and the point where it crashed with that error message was at New Southgate. Folllowing your advice I removed all those static conists, and that solved the problem. BUT I then get the same problem again when I reach Welwyn Garden City. The frame rate was about 15 using the 1024x768 screen resolution.

Aaarrrghhh! Annoying isn't it. I think I'm going to give this 2 part activity project a rest for a while.

Could I be getting these error messages because I have far too much installed in the MSTS folder?

Right
ive had similar problems and i was told that it has no bearing on the amount of addons u have had installed. I must state that its not the consists causing the errors it was in my opinion that my problems started when i reached the technical overload, being over the amount that MSTS could cope with and conbuilder could use so i have split it into two types pre 1999 post 1999 ish.

I seem to have no problems wiv this now but i havent installed the full amount of routes i previously had being in fear that i would have to reinstall MSTS for the 14th time!

I also had problems with making my own activities which is a different story with the same error message but when i tried to edit a service file, which i was told could be a damged path(which i never found)

Im a firm believer that most errors connected to MSTS are graphics related and that u shouldnt have any of the boxes ticked in the Advanced section of the graphics options or at worst try one at a time but unfortunately there are so many factors involved it would be better to have none ticked , due to have no static consists on one activity could make it run perfect the 2 could cause it to crash.

For some reason in microsofts infanite wisdom they have designed the greatest simulation program but also the most finiky program. i wonder wether the designers of the game would have believed how many addons would have become availible and wether provison was made witihn the game for this.

Lets hope if the rumors of MSTS 2 are true they solve these problems.

I had Ten route's installed the other day and a Full download of stock, other than the computer virtually parking on loadup MSTS was ok.

250 Loco's
500 Carriages and Wagon's
1800 Consists
10 route's taking 5Gb.

My comp is a P4 2.0Ghz 512Mb Ram, 64Mb Graphic's.

I have just copied out the extra Train's and Route's and resored the Back-up's I made, Then re-inserted the Route I'm Making, It helps speed up the Sim and lower the strain on your system if you have low stock and low Route numbers.

Why does DOS never Say Excelent Command or filename ?!!?!??
To Err is human, computers output the errors at higher speed.

When I was getting that dreaded MSTS message of death, I would just run the AE, then move a few of the static consists around a bit, then change the starting times of a few of the AI services, so that one of them will pass at around that point where I got the error message !!
Sounds strange I know, but so far it works !!
You can't always get what you want, Camilla !!

Beg to differ, Charles, I've been seeing Andrew for the last 10 years !!!!
