Merry Go Round Style Coal Train
I would like some feed back on my Merry Go Round Style Coal Train activity for BrisCard V 3.1 Route. So anybody who has downloaded and played it tell me via this post what you think be it positive or otherwise I'm a big boy I can take it. The reason being I am thinking about doing another activity, can't decide what yet, trying to think of something that ain't been done before, so any suggestions would be helpful.
Edit.
So can I assume from the lack of replies, that nobody has downloaded and played my activity. If that is the case I will probably remove it from the site, and not bother uploading anymore.

125 downloads and not one comment! Strange! Unless those people don't use the forum!

Feedback is generally not given when people don't have problems.
Most of the feedback I get regarding any issues tends to be either via PM or e-mail as detailed in the readme.
It doesn't bother me if people dont' say "Thanks - that was a super duper fabolous activity", as I'm creating them for myself and uploading for other to enjoy if they so wish.

Yes im afraid if you are waiting for feedback, you might be waiting a long time.
Feedback is usually limited to asking for help when things dont work out right.
Very occasionally though people will say something is great or good or excellent
but usually only if its an exceptional activity. Two of mine got that response
Morning Mail and Southport Diversion for Thames Mersey (plug
). Over a 1000 downloads between them (more if you add the variations that Bob Latimer produced with my permission) brought around 20 responses

My Witham Newspapers act for GE is on 200+ downloads at the moment and just the one email of thanks
No problem though, take comfort in the fact that no news is good news.

As others have said similar things, my eurostar act has had 909 downloads, and I havent really had any feedback.

Re: Merry Go Round Style Coal Train
The kind of feedback I wanted was for people to let me know what they thought of the activity. As it was my first activity for public release, like if there was any improvements I could make, anything I'd missed out. Generally things that would if I decide to upload another activity make it better and more enjoyable for people to play. I wasn't asking for and no way expected thanks.

Well I think you can take comfort that if you havent been swamped by complaints, most people who have tried it are happy with it. But the really important thing is, are you happy with it? You should only write activities for yourself, for your own enjoyment. If you like it then thats really all thats important. If you then choose to share it with others then you might occasionally get some words of encouragement which will boost your enjoyment.
The main thing is to enjoy doing them, and enjoy running them and enjoy sharing them.

I have recently downloaded your activity but not had a chance to play it yet.
I will report back once I have.
I know where you are coming from. I have recently uploaded 4 activities so far with a combined toal of just under 600 downloads and so far had just one pm. It was to say that an item of stock is no longer available so I hope to fix that soon, its on the 'to do' list so to speak! Apart from that I have taken the same approach as the others, 'no news is good news'!

Re: Merry Go Round Style Coal Train
well dave, I managed to get a shot last night. Have to say it was a very enjoyable activity.
Plus points:
- Brilliant choice in loco, very claggy!!
- Activity not too long
- As far as I could see all ai in keeping with the period
My only 2 niggles were that on the return journey from the power station there was only one piece of ai that passed (should there have been more?) and I thought there could have been static ai in some of the sidings.
Its one that I will probably play quite often.

Firstly thank you very much for the feedback, it is much appreciated.
I realise there is not much traffic, the reason being as this was my first public activity I wanted to reduce the chance of things going wrong and also keep the extra downloads to a minimum also this was the reason I didn't include any static consists (just in case I forgot to mention something in the readme), having said that there was an extra class 37 included that I could have used and I could probably have put some static HST's at Canton. All this has been duly noted for any future activities.

Re: Merry Go Round Style Coal Train
Unless the route is very lightly detailed, less is best in my opinion. People cram too much static consist into some activities which, whilst it may look realistic, plays havoc with the running on some machines. Recently ive been going through deleting static consists off some activities to improve running - and my machine is no slouchI wanted to reduce the chance of things going wrong
So I think you were right - Less is best. Light is right
