Activity Creation Headache!
I need help from someone who preferably knows the BrisCard route. I am right in the middle of creating a activity for the BrisCard V3.1 route, the player train leaves Tremorfa siding drives to Abethaw power station, go's round the loop, drops off some wagons, picks up some wagons, returns to Tremorfa sidings. the problem is that when I get near to Tremorfa siding there is a signal at red that won't allow me to enter the siding. I purposefully set the activity to end on a different siding to the start to try and avoid problems, but it has to cross a short piece of track that it originally ran on, no other traffic uses this section. Any help would be great! Also please forgive any misspelling of place names!

Dont have the route but its possible that this is creating a loop. Without looking I cant be sure though. Place an end point just before that section and see if it works ok that far. If it does you only need to look beyond that point for the problem. I assume there isnt anything in thos sidings and that pressing tab wont let you through. Msts doesnt like paths which double back on themselves as it can confuse it.but it has to cross a short piece of track that it originally ran on

I am not an activity guru.
But I am the creator of BrisCard.
The loops in BrisCard can do strange things - even in explore mode. If you are still having problems, you could send me the player path, only the path, via info at chrisayoung dot com and I will willingly have a look at it.
Regards,
Chris

Laurie is correct.
If your path starts and finishes roughly at the same point, then the virtual loop will baffle MSTS.
I had exactly the same problem with a GE act that started and finished at Walton-on-the-Naze. I got stuck at Kirby Cross on the way back, because beyond there, you are retracing your exact steps. Try and finish the act on a different siding and avoid your outwards path as you approach the end of the activity,

Re: Activity Creation Headache!
I seem to have solved the problem, I shortened the consist and moved the start back a bit. What was happening was because the front of the train at the start was on the set of points that I needed to use on the way back into the siding. It was confusing MSTS into thinking the train was still there at the end! or something like that. So thanks for all the advice guys. I'm now in the process of adding traffic and should that go well. I might even consider uploading the activity so you can have a go at it. You have been warned!

Re: Activity Creation Headache!
I found Briscard an excellent route to work with, and to look at. Having written many activities for that route myself, i do remember many pathing issues i needed to get my head around and sort out especially with the steam excursion i did. Most of the time though as described above in davejc64's post just the simplest little tweak can be a major problem solver!
Chris has done an absolutely brilliant job with this route, and i consider it to be way up there with Thames Mersey, Dorset Coast and the likes.
davejc64 good luck with your activity mate.
Chris thanks for such a brilliant route!
Kindest Regards.

Re: Activity Creation Headache!
I've had the doubling back problem on the small single line of the VOG at Bridgend, but also has this problem on some other routes like LSC. But for some reason it seems to be some routes only :S. Put reverse points and double back on lines in TM and DC, it will happily do so, for some reason...
Cheers,
James.
