Problems with Activities

The MSTS Activity Editor allows you to make your own activities, or missions, for the player to complete. This is also how you can get lots of other trains running while you drive yours!

It didn't sound to me like your opinion - what you said was "What we also would like to see is quality activities rather than quantity." We - not I, as if you knew what the rest of us think. If you are expressing your opinion, then you might find it better to start your sentences with something like "I think".

davejc64 wrote:What we also would like to see is quality activities rather than quantity. Some people have taken to flooding this site with activities that require you to download a lot of files and then offer very little in the way of enjoyment. Come on guys activities are suppose to be fun don't be too anal when it comes to stock and consists!

No point saying your not criticising and then writing something pretty offensive later on. I actually like having the correct stock and the correct liveries. If i'm running an activity set in Scotland in the 50's I don't want to see a merseyrail class 150. However some people don't mind. The point is there is something for everyone and saying something or someone is anal is offensive and uncalled for..

I Just started writing activities and a try to use stock that`s here or on the CD route.
Also just using stock that is correct for the area and time i want that activity to be built in, At the moment I making an activity for the GWR route Which is set around 1974 between Paigton and Bristol just using Westerns Class 47, 45`s ,25`s and Shunters plus Mk1 coaches and Freight
This is from my memory of holidays at that particular time . Not all loco`s where Blue except for the westerns . 47`s for example were being paint blue during there intermidate to heavy Repair at Crewe Works and so were two tone green.
I do try to check that every think listed is here but if not it can be replaced using other stock.
By the way it`s taken me about 30 hours so far to write the above act and with more testing packaging it altogether should be able to upload it some time later on next week. This is only me third activity so i`m still learning.

Has anyone misquoted your original posts, or are they misquotes because you subsequently edited two of your posts?

That's all very nice for you. Only problem with having an opinion on a forum is that others may have a differing opinion - thereby automatically creating a topic for debate.

if you're not really interested in taking part in a debate, it is probably better to keep quiet - that way nobody gets upset by conflicting opinions or possible misquotes.

I am slightly puzzled as to why it took you 12 days after the last post (which was your own) to claim there were misquotes - did you not read and notice them at the original times of postings?

Might it be related to the subsequent edits of his posts, on October 12th and 13th?

Very funny - when I included your comment "What we also would like to see is quality activities rather than quantity." in my post above I did it by copy and paste. I can't see that comment in any of your posts now, but it was there earlier, so I draw my own conclusion. If you wanted to withdraw your comments, you could have said so, rather than editing the posts and then accusing us of misquoting you.

Was there a misquote by me? Definitely not.

And I will draw my own conclusion,They are my post's so I will edit them as I see fit, as I don't need anybody's permission to do so, I don't see the need to tell anybody I am doing so. Plus it quite clearly states that I have done so!

Dave, if this is your idea of "having fun" then I suggest you take your toys and find another sandbox!

Mods, I suggest you have a close look at this thread and decide whether "davejc64" deserves to continue to have posting rights.

Do lighten up people! Have I in anyway said anything offensive or abusive? Alright so you don't appreciate my sense of humour! Fair enough I will try to restrain myself in future!

And that is quite definitely enough. Topic locked.

As usual, any complaints about locking should be referred to one of the mod team.
