Siding shunting

When I drop off a freight into Dent siding (S & C 1930), the signal will not allow me to exit the siding from the direction I reversed in. If I try the same movement with a light engine, I can reverse in and the signal allows me to exit with no problem.
The freight fits into the siding OK and the reverse point is the same for light engine and with freight.
Am I doing something wrong?
Any suggestions please?

Have you checked in RE the location of the signal marker on the track - if your goods train only just fis it may still be fouling the signal.

Martin,
You reverse into the siding past the signal, so the engine position is always the same engine light or with freight.
Any other ideas?

Martin,
How do I find the exact place in the RE. It seem awful to use. Can I find the LAT and LONG on the route and use this to find the reverse point in RE? Or is there an easier way?

Yes, hit 0 in the game to give you a compass heading and lat long, then you can navigate to that location in RE. But if the engine location is the same then it can't be the signal marker on the track... hmmmm... not sure. Anyone else help here?

Just to clarify - although the engine position is the same in both scenarios, with freight where is the engine located at the time the reverse point is activated? It could be that the rear of the train hits the reverse point before the engine clears the signal.

Ed,
That's it! I adjusted the reverse points and it all works fine.
Thanks for the idea.

Hows about re adjusting frame rate manually or get the latest athlon

its amazing very fast and very powerful the senery that slows your machine down requires a fast running processor to be kind to the frame rates. but as for that the cheapest and easiest is actually adjust frame rates to the highest level

Peter,
I've got an Athlon 1.3Ghz with 256 DDR Ram and an ATI 128Mg pro video card and it works fine.
Sorry, no other ideas.
