I am new to this forum. I searched for my problem but didn't find it. Every now and then when something bad happens while working in the activity editor I lose my "caterpillars", those little circles that show where your trains are when you do a verify starting state. It also stops showing where you place consists. When this happened in the past I reloaded EVERYTHING and that solved the problem, but it takes hours! Is there any way to reinstate the view of the "caterpillars"?

this is due to a corruption of the hwrenderer keys in your windows registry. Its pretty easy to fix using regedit. Do a search here for hwrenderer and you will find lots of threads as this problem comes up several times a week. One will have detailed instructions on what to do
