Hi, this activity has just been uploaded. It requires MSTSbin and includes a change of locos - you drive a "Battle of Britain" from London to Redhill and then a "King Arthur" back to South Croydon. I would have liked to take the "King Arthur" up to Norwood or New Cross but - as I've mentioned before - the Automatic Fireman seems to have a bug, and the water only lasts as far as Croydon!
For a simple activity it's taken a long time to write, so any feedback on this one would be appreciated.

Excellent activity ( as usual ) Dee.
Made it to South Croydon without running out of water.
Change of cabs took a couple of attempts, and I had a problem deciding which end was which in the F9 view after changing cabs. Very good advice to save the activity at this point.
This type of activity would be great if the water problem could be overcome, but was still very interesting regardless.
Thanks
Mike

Activity ran well with loads of green emu's. Reminded me of the time I lived at Richmond. The changeover went smoothly. You don't have to wait for any 'helper' message once you click on the relevant loco after pressing F9 it will work regardless.
Once I had changed locos I observed that my loco had 45% coal and 0.1 gallons of water! I easily made it to South Croydon making Tintagel a most envronmentally friendly loco, since it used less than 0.1 gallons of water over that distance.
I even put the regulator to 100% for a long stretch but the water, though always VERY low, never ran out and when I eased off even increased!!

I appreciate the comments, thanks. Although I tested it myself several times, you are never quite sure how things will work out once the activity is released to others with different set-ups and speeds of play.
I never found the cab changing consistent - occasionally it worked first time but mostly it took several attempts.
Personally I found the ending a bit of a let-down - I would much rather have finished by shunting the wagons into Norwood or New Crosss yard, but this wasn't possible with the water level reducing and the resultant limited travel. I considered shelving the activity, but in the end decided to upload so that members could experience the potential for activities with loco changing.
I started to write a follow-on activity which involved starting out in a diesel and then changing to a steam loco, but this met with similar and additional problems (the thread in MSTSbin forum refers) so although the potential is there, I think new activities of this type will need to wait until the 2nd loco can travel a bit further than 8 miles or so.
