Coming Soon My First For Burton derby

The MSTS Activity Editor allows you to make your own activities, or missions, for the player to complete. This is also how you can get lots of other trains running while you drive yours!

That why we have read me files. To tell you what to do before running the activity. If you just jump in and run it without being bothered to read it, then I'm afraid its really your problem.
Thank you Laurie for reiterating what I have said & I mentioned it in the read-me file on the down load text & in the coming soon thread & I quote
(Please note that there is Bounding box Issues with this Unit *)

I would also endorse the use of MSTS .bin Patch to get the best out of this route

Finally I would like to thank Michael “Mickâ€

Jason
I think you're missing the point Jason - whilst this activity is Pete's, the Blue Pullman model isn't. We can all modify things like bounding boxes on locos for our own personal use but the minute you upload them for general use by the community. you're in breach of copyright. The only person who may legitimately do this is the model's original author, therefore, the way Pete has put his activity together with the inclusion of the readme file is the only way possible. It's best to have this activity and the work of just a minute or so to fix the Pullman stock. The activity is very good so the small effort required is well worthwhile.

Cheers
Ashley

Great act Pete! Haven't completed yet as I keep getting caught by red signals whilst keeping speed up striving to meet the timetable. Some very nice touches with selection of AI stock, I particularly liked the ochre liveried Goyle north of Derby hauling some 20s :P

Cheers

Hi All,
Now don't get cross with me, but could you point me in the right direction to correct the bounding box issue.
Have used the search criteria but must be missing something as there were hundreds of finds under 'bounding box'. Saw Ashley's item and tried altering the dimensions, but obviously failed miserably.
Do I need to download something ?
Activity looks good, always liked anything to do with Burton derby
Your help would be appreciated
Kind Regards
Manty

Hi there

more wise words from Ian Macmillan

The bounding box size is found in the .SD file.
The first and 4th numbers are the width distances from the centre.

Few british stock exceeded 9ft or 2.72 metres. so If you change the numbers to -1.36 and 1.36 you should cure the problem.
hope this being on this thread stops any confusion

Will check again and have another go..
Not sure whether i was reading the correct sd file, will have a look when I get home, and will get back to you if still not sorting it
Thanks for the prompt response

Hi Jason,

The correction aplies to all of the carriages I think. I changed all of them for my own run of the activity as I noticed the driving rear trailer got clipped on the first run through also. The the activity started a little easier if you throttle back untill you have passed the Class 37 Oil train.

The .sd files seen to be from one of the default US locos or from the modelling program. I don't think the builder can claim copyright.

I don't see any problem if the corrected files are uploaded along with the activity.

Cracked it.
Changed all 6 .sd files using the -1.36 and 1.36 dimensions, and the activity runs (so far to Burton anyway)
It appears I amended the wrong file first time around
Anyway thanks for your patience
Great activity Pete
Kind Regards

Pah!
Tis my fault for not including the Pullman in the stock that went with the route (if its builder had granted permission!) All the stock got the bounding boxes corrected to stop this type of thing happening. Never entered me head to include the Pullman

You know, some posts in this thread only reinforce why I don't frequent the forums much these days.

Firstly, Peter, it's a good activity and well worth persuing a "career" with.

Don't let anything discourage that, especially as I feel obliged to post here what I'd normally have sent privately only because so many people have leapt in feet (well, fingers) first.

Lets recap what has been issued, rather than what some people think has.....

Posted File Info on site:-

Dave
I can not be responsible for the shortcomings of rolling stock & I would have been happy to supply a modified version with the activity but that is not permitted as I am sure you know

Regards the lack of Doucmentation...
as you state
And the only text file I could find contained in the archive I downloaded:-
If you downloaded it from UKTS it came with a colourful Word Document Which had the Midland Pullman logo on it as an illustration. If you do loaded it from http://www.train-sim.com ,There is a good chance it was deleted because it contains references to UKTS file No.'s & references to UKTS in general.
I have noticed in the past these have been edited or removed completely.

I have produced almost 100 different activities between the two sites(86 on UKTS Alone ) & have had very little negative feed back.

I think the best thing to do would be to write to the authors of the stock tell them of the problem & if they do not put it right let whoever feels they have the ability to fix them, Do so!
But Still give the overall credit to original author ,(after all there is still a fair amount of the class47s have major B-Box Issues).

Hi Peter

Just a note to thank you for this activity.

It was most enjoyable and I loved the stock used.

I hope you are not discouraged by some of the comments on UKTS.

It seems like some folks are never happy - for myself, it's people like you that keep me playing, and for this I will always be grateful.

Cheers
