AI loco shunting

The MSTS Activity Editor allows you to make your own activities, or missions, for the player to complete. This is also how you can get lots of other trains running while you drive yours!

AI loco shunting

Post by generalmotors228 »

Is it possible to have an AI loco slowly back onto a loose consist and then haul it away or push it back?

I've tried a test activity using a 5MPH limited loco which backs onto a set of coaches (the reversing point is right where the coupling takes place) and they couple up OK, but the train then just stays where it is and won't haul the coaches!

Any ideas?

It ought to work if you put a reverse point in that the AI train can trip to change its direction. The problem will be getting the position right so you trip it as you couple, otherwise the loco may run off without the stock or just sit waiting.

It may be one of those things that are possible in theory but impossible in practice, although i believe someone did actually manage to do it in another activity.

Sorry, but no. :(

If the AI-loco couples the loose consist it becomes a part of that loose consist.
