Timetable probelms+coupling problems.

The MSTS Activity Editor allows you to make your own activities, or missions, for the player to complete. This is also how you can get lots of other trains running while you drive yours!

Timetable probelms+coupling problems.

Post by Beetlejuice »

Hi,
I am wishing to create a actvity for thewhole of the Ece. this would be a rescue activity where You start at King's cross, remove one locomotive to a depot and take the train to york stopping at various major stations.
However, I am afraid that i cannout get the timetable to work as it comes out, this is starting from about 10-30 to be finishing a past midnight because I'm not sure how the path work for it and can't see to find any tutorials that help (including those listed). Also when I intially started trying it I could not get the train to couple up the loco(class 91 to class 225) Both are from the East Coast Mainline Add-on packs. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Also when completed this activity will be realised onto this website once testing is complete. If anyone wishes to volunteer for this role please say here.

Thank you!!!

If you're finishing after midnight its a big NO, as the sim will crash.
MSTS wont do any activity which crosses midnight,.

It's the timetable and the couplings that are the real problems. I haven't added AI stock yet but how do you get a path to work so that everything goes as per above??

How do you make a path where the locomotive is automaticaly assigned to colllect the stock without the editor thinking you have to do the path first then come back?

MSTS is confusing!

The player service wont go anywhere without a path. MSTS cant read your mind and doesnt know what you want to do, so you have to path the way. So place your consist minus the loco where you want them picked up, and then do a path from your starting point to the consist and then on your way to wherever you want to go :) Use reverse points to change direction.

For the timetable dont use the automatic calculation facility. Test drive the route yourself before adding any AI stock and make a note of the timings at each stop. Then in the editor enter the times manually, remembering that the first time you enter is the departure time, then enter it again for the arrival time.

Simple really ;)

and the coupling problem you are having is probably something todo with the fact that the 225s have their own mk4 couplings and nothing else will couple unless .eng files are edited etc.
What are you trying to couple to the 91>?
