Southern Scenes on LSE 5 and 6

Post by dee4141 »

These have been submitted for approval today. Both LSE and BATS Southern Region CD's are needed, plus 2 locomotive downloads from BATS web-site. Any feedback - good or bad - appreciated on this thread please.

Had a go with 'Chard' on the morning commuter.
Two SPADS as predicted with adverse signals placed close to each other. Arrived 20 late having taken care after the second SPAD.
Great fun though, most enjoyable.

Paul

Easilyconfused (John) - Thanks for adding the shortcuts!

SEFAN (Roy) - I've checked both LSE 5 and 6 Activity Files and can't find a BR_20T Brakevan listed - can you confirm this description please? Presume this error message appears on start-up.

dforrest (David) - I'm puzzled by the rigidbody error. This normally occurs with wrongly postioned static stock, doesn't it? Only there is no stationary stock at Lingfield. Can the error occur in other instances? I have tested this activity on numerous occasions and have never come across this error. Have you any idea what time this happened - if so I'll try and reproduce the event.

Sorry you're both having problems.... :(

As for as I know the rigid body error is because of wrongly positioned static or AI stock.

It occurs at 08:09:44 with the error "Failed to initialise car <200022>". After answering "yes" to this about 150 times (yes "150"!), I can continue. It then occurs again at 08:13:53 with the message "Failed to initialise car <200012>" (I only answer "no" once to this!).

The brake van is from one of the BA LNER CDs.

It is an LNER van and would not be seen on the SR before 1948.

Swop it for the LSWR van on the Southern CD or the SR type on the SVR CD.

dforrest - David - I have just run the activity past Oxted (0818), and didn't have the problems you are experiencing. Also I'm not sure what 200012 and 200022 mean.........MrHillingdon (see message above) didn't seem to have a problem.........Do you think you could remove the activity and then reload it again - just in case it has got corrupted on the initial install? Or maybe it was corrupted in the download? I also ran the activity through AE again - no problems shown. If a re-install doesn't help, I could e-mail my original .apk file if you like.

Ian - agree with your comments on the brakevan. I've tried to use SR stock throughout, and the activity includes BATS_SR_24T_brakevan_01 and BATS_BRexSR_24T_brakevan_01.

Don't overdo the SR wagons.

Much of the traffic on the SR came from other regions and most ordinary wagons were pooled with the other companies.
Since the SRs contribltion was small, you had a better chance of seeing a Southern wagon on the LMS.

It was common to see a complete train on the SR without a single Southern wagon except for the brake van.

Thanks, Ian. It's a bit late now for these activities, but I'll use the advice in future ones. :D

One more for MSTS.

I reinstalled the activity and it runs without the error!

I "spoke" a little too soon. I got one set of rigid body errors again (over 100 of them) but was able to pass them and finish the activity (11 minutes late!).

I also get as similar set of errors very near the end of SS LSE 6 but again was able to complete.

One thought. Do you have the 1.3 and 1.3.1 route upgrades that Making Tracks have very recently released? I do.
