MOW Activity for Dorset Coast V2

The MSTS Activity Editor allows you to make your own activities, or missions, for the player to complete. This is also how you can get lots of other trains running while you drive yours!

MOW Activity for Dorset Coast V2

Post by sbradey »

Many of you have downloaded the MOW activities I wrote for Dorset Coast V1. I now have V2 installed and up and running and am looking to extend and improve the activities. I hope, assuming a relatively quiet week at work to get the new version out for next weekend.

The obvious one to extend is the preparation activity. I would like to start this with the collection of the crane and wagons from the Eastleigh yards, but being a Midlander don't have any real local knowledge to work on.

I am guessing that the crane would come from the TMD, the ballast, rails and sleepers from somewhere else in this huge complex of sidings.

Can anyone with local knowledge let me know suitable locations for these to be collected from?

Thanks,

Simon

A word of warning Simon. The Eastleigh tile is extremely tightly packed and I have found it impossible to add even one piece of static consist there :( Likewise AI traffic has to be timed carefully as in many instances that too causes a complete freeze/crash. I'd test each piece in the sim before adding lots of stuff there or you may just be wasting a lot of time :(

If you start in Eastleigh's tile (ie, in the station from an area with no consists, it appeared to work fine). Also watch out with coming from Basingstoke through Eastleigh, MSTS renders it extremely slowly (when testing Eastleigh station only rendered after going through it!)
