Southern Scenes on LSE

The MSTS Activity Editor allows you to make your own activities, or missions, for the player to complete. This is also how you can get lots of other trains running while you drive yours!

Southern Scenes on LSE

Post by dee4141 »

I have just uploaded a new steam activity for LSE (awaiting approval). It is set in the Southern Region era, so unfortunately a number of stock downloads are necessary. If the activity is reasonably well received then I would consider writing a few more using the same stock - might soften the dowloading pain a bit. :D Feedback appreciated.

Very good activity. Please go ahead with more!

Just one problem users will have. The Schools Class locos are no longer on the KimSim website.

Hi David & Dee

A First class and most enjoyable activity - the Schools Class is still available on the Trainsim.com site - Jon (Bilton) pointed me in the correct direction so I downloaded it from there.

Keep more of these Steam Activities coming Dee.

Kindest Regards

Thanks Dee

Another excellent activity.

I believe UKTS 9090 SR274 should be added to the downloads list.

Cheers

Oops! Sorry I missed SR274........

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I'll press on and write a few more activities for this era. If anyone wants a particular loco included, or a specific section of the route, please let me know.

Reginald,

That maybe because you have some items missing. In Easy Activity, Train Store will not allow you to run any Activity in which it has detected errors.

Dee4141 pointed out that there were items needing to be downloaded and has included a download list.

Southern Scenes

further to my previous post I have downloaded all that was reqiurede including the elusive schools loco but am a littl confused by the folloing there are 2 P class locos which are both supposed to go into a folder SECRP(4817 & 4818) and 2 3plank wagons sets again iboth in a similar named folder(11073 & 11074) surley these will over write each otherand there fore one or other will be missing could this be the reason I am getting no joy with this activity?

They can go in the same folder. As long as the actual files are called something different there will be no problem

The SECRP locos do not overwrite each other, I have three locos in that directory. The 3 plankers do overwrite but it doesn't cause a problem , I just assumed that the later upload was an update of the one I already had.

Hello Reginald - this is a strange one! I first read your message a couple of hours ago...........I did a fresh install of the apk file, then went into AE and confirmed that the 3 services from Tonbridge were in the Traffic file - I then ran the diagramatic sim in AE and confirmed that the services were in fact running. I then ran Train Store and got the same message as you i.e. the services were missing. I managed to run the activity with Easy Train Store though , and true enough, I never passed the services from Tonbridge.

I uninstalled everything from Train Store and then ran the activity with the Routes On/Off programme............everything was OK, and I passed the Tonbridge Services too.

I can only assume that Train Store is somehow missing these services. I haven't a clue why this should be. Maybe someone out there more experienced than me can explain ? It would be nice to know if I'm doing something wrong in activity writing!

The error is caused by the service names have leading or trailing spaces in the name.

Dee and Reginald

I had this problem in Train Store, and solved it by deleting a space from the front of each of those three service file names.

More luck than judgement !!

Hope this helps.
