Taking the empties back (LSE)

The MSTS Activity Editor allows you to make your own activities, or missions, for the player to complete. This is also how you can get lots of other trains running while you drive yours!

Taking the empties back (LSE)

Post by dforrest »

An interesting activity but one question, did the SR allow freight trains to run with the guards van in the middle of the train?

Don't recall ever seeing this, but another splendid activity nevertheless.

Also, reverse view is retained throughout the activity without the need to save and reload.

Thanks D.

On a fully fitted train the van can be placed anywhere provided there are two fitted vehicles (3 since 1980something) behind the last piped vehicle.

However every attempt should be made to have the van at the rear so that the guard can observe the train in case of problems or heaters.

On unfitted trains the van MUST be the rear vehicle.

I admit to talking the easy way out here! After deciding that the rear view was worth including, the choice was a) to uncouple the van at each stop and then couple it on the rear again before proceeding b) to have the van at the rear on the last pick-up only or c) to leave the van in the centre throughout. Choice a) was just too difficult with AE in it's current form b) would have been an easy option, but then you would only have the reverse view for the final third of the activity, so choice c) it was.
