A Drivers Day - for London and South East

The MSTS Activity Editor allows you to make your own activities, or missions, for the player to complete. This is also how you can get lots of other trains running while you drive yours!

Am I being dim? I can't seem to find this activity on UKTS or MT?
Could you give us the ID?

Thanks Lad491 for the reply. I found the answer to my problem was i was going to slow past the signal. Anything slower than 5 mph seem to cause the problem yet when i went past at 9 mph everything worked perfect, stopped the banker at the platform uncoupled and drove off faultlessly. Thanks for an entertaining activity keep em comming. :D

After several tries - mostly through MSTS crashing out - I've got as far as picking up the loaded wagons and exiting the quarry at 06:50:50 onto the main line. I'm now stuck at a red at Redhill Station with no sign of anything happening. One Northbound train went through, but I'm still sitting. Should I be expecting a ten minute or more wait, or is something wrong?
I tried backing up into the EMU stabling siding in case I'd over-run and should have stopped before the signal for the right junction in the middle of the platform, but it made no difference, so I assume I'm on the correct path...

Barry - you should be able to TAB through that red signal and get permission to continue on your way. (I thought i'd put that in the briefing note but it could have been in the readme). For some reason that signal never changes to green if you select that path - I had problems on other activities as well.

TAB should work.

You should never have to wait longer than 3 minutes at a signal on any of my activities. If you do have to I always put a pop up message advising of the long delay _ but i rarely have long signal stops.

Just checked and it was in the readme file under driving tips :
There are several locations where you will need to tab through red signals. The down sidings at New Cross Gate, Redhill station to enter the Tonbridge line and Tonbridge Yard (2 or 3 times). You should not get held at a red signal for longer than 2 minutes - if you do something has gone wrong somewhere.
Hope that helps :)

Thanks, Laurie,

I found that 'Tab' late on last night - but for some reason I never got the 'Permission Granted' message, which, as much as anything, is what was confusing me.
Just as an experiment, (and for something to do) I backed right up into the stabling siding then gently moved forward, Tabbed silently through that red, and thought: Aha! so I tried it again at the end of the station, and it let me through. Of course, missing the red at Godstone made it all a waste of time :)

Wonder what the problem is with that signal?? and with my sounds :)

How about picking up a parcels train to take to, say, Tunbridge Wells West from Tonbridge Yard.

The twist is that the train consists of a mixture of narrow guv's and cct's and wide bodied Mk1's. You have to shunt the train and reform, leaving the Mk1's at Tonbridge as only the narrow width vans will fit through the tunnels between Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.

Some extra stock would be required, either Mk1's including BG's or at least the add on Oxted stock from MT.

Oh, and the Class 33 would have to be a "slim Jim" 33/2.

Sounds an interesting idea, but my activities almost always use default stock (or in the case of Making Tracks software Free Stock Friday downloads). I'll think about it though, thanks for your interest.
