Cambrian Mystery Tour
Seem to have got into a deadlock.
I am held at a red light just outside Dovey Junction. A train comes into the station from Aberystwyth pulls to a halt and we just sit there waiting for each other. I've tried slowly creeping forward but signal doesn't clear.
Shame as I was looking forward to taking 2*24's futher up the line, especially with them tweaked to use the ELR cab and sounds

Hi
I have the same problem, just run the activity through editor & tools and the DMU is supposed to wait in the station until the mystery train runs through on route to Barmouth, but in reallity this is not happening, suggest that the author resets the time of the DMU to run 1-2 minutes later
Alan.

Just done another test by changing the AI DMU time to 11.12.30 and got through the signal but was held at the next signal and low & behold I got smacked in the mouth by the DMU which was running on the same line as myself. I can rectify this problem but I cannot be bothered it is up to the author to sort it out.

AI traffic does not work the same on every computer, it can be 30 seconds faster on one machine and 30 seconds slower on another machine. When I make activitys I have to make allowances with my AI traffic that suits the wider trainsim community. When I tested your activity in Editor & Tools yes it worked a treat at the junction. but when I ran the activity in reality after changing the AI DMU time to 11.12.30 I was sitting at the second signal and I got smacked in the mouth by the DMU. One way to rectify it is by changing the path of either the DMU or the Player train. Just my thoughts.

Haven't been around so just got to this post I would make the following observations as there seems to be a number of issues:
1. If the dmu is still moving it suggests that you have got to Dovey Junction too early (or you have a faster PC than me) especially as you have proved it is working in the AE. Have you stuck to the speed limits? I am personally not keen on making activities on single lines as the probability of stand-offs is very high. The stand-off you describe happened to me on many occasions during the early testing phase although not in the later tests following many iterations of timings.
2. Changing any of the timings would affect the whole activity particularly AI traffic on single lines, for this activity it probably represents about 12 hours work or one week elapsed. As the activity has been run by a number of people with success it is probably not activity related.
3. I have not experienced crashing of the AE except for stock. The AE in my experience lets you click OK to an 'out of date warning'
4. The 'out of date' message may be something that I forgot to update, for which I apologise and I can correct.
5. There is no station stop at 11:34, the first stop is at Barmouth at 12:27, I will correct the timetable

As stated previously I have had problems with this activity, but nothing that could not be rectified.
1: The first time I tried it there was a stand off at Dovey Junction on double track the reason for this is that the AI train and the player train was using the same road, having seen this I set the AI train to run 2 minutes and 30 seconds later.
2: The second time I tried it I got smacked in the mouth at Dovey Junction on the same piece of track and you all know what happens next. I went back into editor & tools and looked at the pathing for the trains. I changed the path of the player train to the right hand road to avoid collision.
3: The third time I tried it all went well, the AI train left Dovey Junction at 11.41.50 and it passed me when I was approaching the signal box to pick up the token, after that everything was ok, the only other AI train is at Tywyn which I had to wait for but that was not a problem as the signal was already down for it.
4: Finally I would like to say that it is a good and well thought out activity by having to get the token at certain signal boxes but it made you late in arriving at Barmouth, but I suppose in the days of the old BR mystery tours nobody bothered if trains ran to time or not. Looking forward to the return journey if there is one and if you wanted the return journey tested before it is posted I would be quite happy to do so.

I have now looked at the activity and it is saying that the service is out of date despite the AI train having valid timings, I have re-saved the activity and corrected the stop time in the timetable. I have now up-loaded this as v1.1 I trust this solves the problem and please accept my apologies for the inconvenience caused.dcmax wrote:what do you mean when you say ae crashing is all about stock??? I have discovered ae will now work on all routes but cambrian so what should I be looking for to get it working so i can re save this out of date dmu

Thank you for your observations and I may well take you up on your offer as it will prevent the embarrassment I feel about the error in this activity.
