NWE2 Activity Feedback

The MSTS Activity Editor allows you to make your own activities, or missions, for the player to complete. This is also how you can get lots of other trains running while you drive yours!

The activities I find are really very good and I hope there will be some more in the not too distant future.
I have however found a small problem on the Rail Tour activity. I got past the Wavertree Tech Park and took the branch to the right, under the tunnels and just before the main line ast Bootle got a Red - at the 30mph sign - and can't get past it. Any help would be apreciated.

I'm working my way thru the rolling stock to produce a set of thumbnails.

When its done, you can download it to see what you get on the CD.
But a better way is just to get the CD. Its well worth it.

NWE2 Garston-Fleetwood act.

Post by fitto »

I tried many times to get up the bank after picking up the banker but always stalled. Tried all settings on cut off and regulator but no luck until I cheated and deleted all the smaller mineral wagons from the consist!
About the Chester Blackpool clubtrain (1549 ex Chester); both locos are powered up and working via through wiring in the coaches. Bit like an HST but much slower! I'm lucky enough to see this train depart from Chester PSB whenever I'm on the right shift. Make the most of it as it finishes on the 25/5/04!

Thanks, I have the cd but would like to know what stock it installs so I can change all the Ai traffic on my up coming activities. :D :D

1) Move your TRAINSET folder to a temp. location (or re-name it)
2) Re-install NWE "Stock and activities" only
3) Run Route-Riter, and it'll provide you with a full list.
You can then delete the NWE 'trainset' and replace your original.

Well, having received the CD today (Hurrah!!), I have had a go at three activities, and failed at them all.............

Managed to get the Class 58 and MGR hoppers stalled on a bank three times, each time hitting the start of the bank at speed limit speed..........no hope for me, Eh?? Now if it had a pair of 4F's on it like a decent company used, it'd sail up it..............

The only one to report (e.g. the only one I don't think was my total incompetence!!) was the 8F coal to Fleetwood one........got up the Bank no problem, but quite a bit further on, trundling along a straight and fairly level 70 mph section at about 30 mph, it pulled the coupling failure trick on me..........about to try again from the last save before................

Like it so far, Good Job..................wish Fleetwood was in 1930's track layout tho!!!!!!!!!!!

Following previous post, have re-run and no uncoupling.................now arrived at Fleetwood, reversed and dropped off train in BNPS siding as required, moved forward to siding exit signal (about 13:10)..............now 13:45 and I'm still being told to "hold it there please............" :o

(thud.....thud.....thud.....thud.....)

Dave, this is the sound of my head as it makes violent contact with the table! You wouldn't believe the strange results I got when writing that activity on that flippin' bank...see fitto's comment about not being able to get up the bank at all without deleting wagons.

I have absolutely no idea why it won't give you the 'away' from the siding at Burn Naze as there is no AI traffic on that stretch. You've obviously tried tabbing 'cos Terry's dulcet tones have told you to 'hold it there please'...have you tried the MSTS shuffle?

It's ages, probably two months, since I've run it and I can't remember if 1310 is on time, astonishingly late or what. However I do recall that I set up a shunter AI at Salwick to hapen on the way back to Preston if you're on time, so I'll go into AE and check it out.

Paul

PS good tip for this activity: when you let go of the banker at the top of the bank, do it on the fly whilst looking back from the guards van in '5' view - very evocative...

'Bout time I ran it again.... nearly did so at Bradford, But I only had about 8 hours
Just sat here looking at a nice, shiny spankin' brand-new Pentium IV 3 GHz sitting in its box.... As soon as I get it in the PC, I'll have another go. (Never know, it might help me get up that ruddy hill! )
