Tanks to Hitchin and Hornsey Activity

The MSTS Activity Editor allows you to make your own activities, or missions, for the player to complete. This is also how you can get lots of other trains running while you drive yours!

Tanks to Hitchin and Hornsey Activity

Post by Lad491 »

Folks - due to a complete and total misunderstanding about the workings of MSTS  the above activity uploaded recently and then patched is flawed.

I have now uploaded a completely new version to replace the original and deleted the patch which wasnt needed. My version is still only for V1.2 of MidEast. The version modified for me by Bob Latimer for V1.3 will be equally flawed.

I am really sorry about this, especially if you have struggled in vain to complete the activity only to find that it wasnt possible.

Any further comments about this activity to this thread please.

Yes, and getting shorter all the time - we're heading for what passes around here as "winter"!

(Actually, I had a bit of spare time I didn't expect to have :) )

Just about to upload the MEUK 1.3 version.
Thanks for doing that again for me Bob :)

We also have short days / weeks and weekends here since I didnt think i would get around to look at this problem until next weekend but, like you and thanks to appalling weather here yesterday, I found myself with a free weekend. :)

I sincerely hope that this will now sort out this activity and i can move on and try and finish my steam railtour activity - which again is currently running at around 3 and a half hours :o

Thanks again Bob , thanks also to Alan Salmon for once again pointing me to a solution that had escaped me and to everyone else for your patience in struggling with a 3 hour activity which you couldn't complete :(

At long last I have completed this activity. :D :D :D

Did not beat the dmu at Gainsborough. :( Got pass the 31, 56 and dmu before St. Neots and was 1m 5 sec early passing by.

No problems at all.

O by the way I'm claiming 5min overtime. 5 min late back at the cross.

At least your driver got home for tea. :)

Oh dear - I think I'm going to be short of money

Ran the new V1.3 version.

Through Retford LL 12:13
Gainsborough Arr 12:22, Dep 12:27 - Beat the DMU
Lincoln Arr 12:41, Dep12:48 - passed parcels in the station
Peterborough Pass 13:37
Passed 'the' DMU between Holme and the power station
St Neots Pass 13:53 - greens all the way
Hitchin Arr 14:21, Dep 14:25
Hornsey Arr 14:57, Dep 14:59
KX Arr 15:08

My excuse is I was keeping to 60mph for fuel reasons... (16 Gals left in the tank at KX)

well done Martin - glad the 1.3 version works as well. :)

I'll let you both off the fine as you've been a great help to me with testing. :)

Thanks again.

Thanks for that. I'm a bit poor these days.

I had about 30 Gals left and I was doing 75mph all the way. Nice to see Martin, I'm not the only one you can beat the dmu. I was ready to go at 12:27 but the signalman would not let me run, this time.
