The availability of this activity has been delayed slightly because of the uktrainsims teams requirement to attend a uktrainsim live venue. Latest information i have is that its expected to be approved now on Tuesday.

Ive just been advised of ( and discovered ) a pretty major bug in my activity 8a - the return run from East Croydon to Brighton to fit in with Europeanbahn's activity 8. This is the first report i have had of a problem with this activity - despite over 250 downloads to date. :(

To those of you who have already downloaded it - I apologise. I aim to make all my activities work 100% and usually extensively test them before uploading. Somehow this slipped through the net - and it shouldn't have done since it isnt a minor bug - but a major one.

I have been working on a fix which is now awaiting testing. As soon as I am satisified it is now 100% i'll upload it. In the meantime the original has been annotated accordingly.

Sorry again, but this emphasises the importance of feedback if things dont work out right (or even if they do) since I could have fixed this ages ago if I had known of the problem. Please post details of ANY problems with my activities here. Thanks

Ye, us activity creators could do with a bit more in the way of feedback for our activities. I remember someone emailing me about a permanent red signal in an activity I created for German Railroads 1, about 4 months after I had created the activity. If that person hadn't have emailed me I would never have known the problem, as no one else emailed me to inform me about the problem! Also, another time when I was referring to one activity I created for for the London-Southampton route, someone said there was also some problem with it. So it was only by chance that I found out about this. And then when I asked on the forums if anyone else had the same problem with it, I didn't get a single reply! So I wasn't to know either way.

Anyway, point is, if you get any problems with our activities, then PLEASE let us know about it asap! And we'll ammend the activities! 8)

Just had ago at 8a and arrived Brighton 55secs late.

All running ok, but I had a green sig going in to Brighton sta and a Yellow as the stockblocks showing in F4. Should be yellow outside and red as blocks.

Sorry never got back to you before, but had downloaded route and never got around to running it. When saw message about old 8a and run it, though Brighton box had major sig problems.

Thanks Andy. I spotted the caution at the buffer stops during testing - but to fix that would have meant redoing the whole player path. That would have taken significantly longer to do and I didnt think it mattered too much, as you have to stop :) .

Thanks for pointing it out though.

You don't have to redo the entire path, just drag the end point slightly short of the final signal. You need to be zoomed in quite a bit, as you have to make sure you end after the platform marker, else the stop doesn't appear on the timetable.

Thanks Alan - didnt know you could drag the end point. If I put an end point - or a start point for that matter - in the wrong place I always end up removing it and then usually when i try to re add it in the right place it nearly always corrupts the route and I have to start again.

I'll try out dragging an end point tomorrow, but im not going to upload yet another version of 8A. One to remember though.

Thanks

Yes, you can drag the start or end point as far as the next node - that is you can't move it past a junction.

Alternatively, for the end, you can just "place end point" further up the path, or "remove end point" to move it further down. (where up is towards the start and down is away)

Activity Update:

Im back working on the 00:05 Victoria - Brighton/Eastbourne. Just about finished it now except that it needs a slight tweak to stop you arriving 15 minutes early. Im planning to spend all day fixing that and should be ready to upload tomorrow.

Ive just uploaded the 00:05 activity.
Unfortunately it wasnt possible to add an AI train to slow down your progress towards Brighton as doing so screwed the entire rest of the timetable. After 5 hours ive admitted defeat and loaded it - as is.

It still not a bad activity though (even though i say it myself and probably shouldn't) so I hope you enjoy it. As usual, any bugs or feedback, good or otherwise, here please.

Sorry - Ive had to delete this activity temporarily as it seems the player service path has got broken after the last patch I applied. My apologies to the three of you who got in quick and have already downloaded it.

I need to rework it again. I'll repost it later.
