Hmmm, just tried it in "explore" and it works. Reverse points can be very fussy, if your train passes the point but the points can't be switched because your wagons are covereing it, it doesn't work, no amount of to-ing and fro-ing will get it to change - you must make sure there is enough clearance.
Have a go in "explore" - if you can drive the route then you can set a path.
I know how frustrating these things are, near the end of an activity - ever tweak you've got to run the entire thing again!!!
(And I must admit I've not had chance to try your activity myself)

Alan - You're right - it does work ok in explore route. But i created a short activity starting on the up slow at selhurst going north, reversing over the crossover and finishing on the London Bridge spur and no matter where i put the reverse point, i cant reverse back over the crossing north of selhurst onto the down slow from the up slow. The London Bridge route does work ok though if you start from the down slow at selhurst.
Explore route seems to work differently than preset paths.

OK - Ive just about run out of ideas for new activities now and im waiting for the new add on pack to be released. However if anyone has any scenarios on the L2B route they would like to see written as an activity I will be happy to give it a shot. My only stipulation is that it must use only default stock since i dont seem to have any luck getting any other stock that i have downloaded to work properly
ok - i told a porky about not doing any more activities.
Ive knocked together a simple little one which came about from a bug in an earlier one. The Three Bridges to Eastbourne / Brighton activity starts with the train have been split at Three Bridges (both parts still on the same platform - the Eastbourne portion in front) - with the front portion as an AI train and you driving the rear portion to Brighton. Lots of cautions and signal checks as you follow the front portion to Keymer Jct (i think) then a clear run to Brighton with a tight timetable and little recovery time.
Just for fun and not too taxing, but I was getting withdrawal symptoms not having anything to write
Hopefully it'll be released for downloads later today or tomorrow.

Thanks Andy for the feedback - glad you liked it.
Originally the timetable was very tight, but MSTS seems to have a quirk which causes the timetable to be changed as you add AI traffic. By the time I had all the up services running I wanted I couldn't get the intermediate stop times I had first time around, even with performance values set at 100%. It was a compromise in the end. Not bad for a bug though

There is a small error in my most recent activity (Brighton - Victoria Fast). Whilst it runs ok the timings are such that you can arrive at East Croydon 5 minutes early. Checking the real timetable I see there is an earlier Brighton to Watford service which you should catch up around Gatwick and follow to East Croydon, slowing your pace and stopping you arriving early.
I will write an AI service into the activity to achieve that, probably at the weekend and upload a patch when its been tested. I'll upload a patched version of the activity at the same time for those who would rather wait.
Sorry for that.

Ive just amended the Brighton to Victoria Fast activity so it now includes the 09:55 Brighton to Watford service as an AI service which will now provide signal checks to prevent you arriving at East Croydon too early.
The service is an actual run with correct timings.
For those of you who have downloaded the original unpatched version, there is a patch awaiting authorisation ( probably be released tomorrow ) which will save you downloading the whole activity again.
Feedback and any further bug reports here please.

Eh? Even on a 14,400 modem, 22 k only takes a few seconds to download, I don't see why a patch is necessay.Lad491 wrote:For those of you who have downloaded the original unpatched version, there is a patch awaiting authorisation ( probably be released tomorrow ) which will save you downloading the whole activity again.

Just in case anyone was wondering - the return Victoria - Brighton Fast using real times has proved to be way more difficult to write than anything ive done before. There are several AI trains you should see / pass on the way and the southbound AI trains seem to be incapable of achieving the true timetable times. To get around this I have had to use some activity writers licence by making the times look right (by having the right train in the right place at the right time - even if the start or finish times are wrong).
I think im almost there now, with just one train - the final AI train into Brighton - which currently arrives over 20 minutes late making the timetabled arrival time impossible, left to fix. Im working on that one now trying to start it much further down the line so it arrives at the correct time. I still hope to have the activity available by next weekend, or at least ready for testing then.
And anyway - this update was only to get my thread back to the top of the list
I hope you all have enjoyed the up service as ive not had any feedback (not even from Hector who asked for the activity) despite almost 275 downloads.
