Hi All,
I'm working on an activity for Mid East 1.3; the activity is a local frieght trip from Worksop Yard to Lincon Terrace Sidings.
The activity involes dropping off some tanks in Gainsborough oil terminal which means I have to mark a reverse point on the UP line to propel into the terminal to cut-off the tanks. However, when I put in the reverse point the AI train ahead of me stops at the signal protecting Gainsborough Trent East Jn and won't move.
The strange thing is when I remove the reversing point on the player service i.e. go through to Lincon without droping off the tanks, the AI train doesn't stop (apart from it's station stop at Gainsborough).
Is this a bug with Trainsim, the route or am I doing something wrong?
Finally, I've heard there's a speed-up-time mode in Trainsim, how does one access it?

Its difficult to say without knowing exactly where you are and what you are trying to do - but it sounds as if you are doing something wrong - perhaps not leaving enough room for your train to clear a switch (points) or something.
To answer your last point, edit your msts shortcut and add /timeacceleration to the line. Then when playing you can press ctrl+T to speed up time, and ctrl+shift+T to slow down again.
Do not use this for testing critical timing with AI traffic, the faster you run "time" the less accurate the sim.

Try bringing your train to a stand and then reversing a few feet.
I created an activity where an AI train reverses into a layby on S&C 1930s. The idea was that my following player express would then pass. The AI train sat at the signals protecting the layby points and my train was brought to a stand at the signal behind. Fortunately I could see what was happening ahead of me. As soon as I reversed a couple of feet and the drew forward the signals for the AI train cleared and it pulled forward and then reversed into the layby.
So, weird as it may be, reversing may clear the signals for the AI train ahead of you!
cheers

Msts pathing, follows a linear way of thinking.
example. I travel along a line... msts set's the signals 3 infront of me.
I have an AI train which crosses my line to go into a siding. If I'm early, I get the path and he waits.
If I'm late, the AI train get's the path and I have to wait.
In other words the paths are first come first served.
If you have priority over the AI train, and you stop, reverse, Msts think's your path has changed, so gives the AI train the right of way. ??
The same thing works with you following AI trains. and running them into a goods slip.
Like Alan S did on Mideast.

Why does DOS never Say Excelent Command or filename ?!!?!??
To Err is human, computers output the errors at higher speed.
