4 NWE and 4 TM activities

The MSTS Activity Editor allows you to make your own activities, or missions, for the player to complete. This is also how you can get lots of other trains running while you drive yours!

Simon,

Thanks very much for these.

Are you sure the last four were written on NWE v3?

When I go to install them it says they were written on TDB 23951 whereas I'm running TDB 25872.

I go ahead with the install but when I try to run them I get "invalid platform" errors indicating that they were written for a different version from the one I have.

Can one of you confirm whether or not you can run the activities after clicking through the errors?

If its just a version error, they should still load and run as intended.
Kindest regards,
Simon.

I've found the issue. Short story ensues...

I was on the testing team when NWEV3 was being built. I left the MSTS scene before the building and testing of V3 had been completed. Apparently I also didn't think to download the public download version of the route when I came back on the scene!

The activities, as I said in my last post, should still run as intended after clicking through the errors, I don't think much in the way of track and interactives changed in the 3 or 4 months between me leaving the scene and the route being uploaded. From memory, all that was left was a little bit of scenery placement and a couple of others' activities were needing finished.

I am in the process of downloading the route, once that's done it should just be a case of re-saving all the acts, re-packaging, and re-uploading. Nothing will've changed except my version of the route will no longer be a massively outdated testing copy.

Sorry for the mix up, all be sorted soon enough.
Kindest regards,
Simon.

I have removed the NWE acts from the library pending fixes. Will re-upload when fixed.

Thanks Simon.. I'm looking forward to the updates.
Don't forget to also install Patch #6
Invalid File ID [34903]

Actually, this jogged my memory to upload a finished activity (Clitheroe-Mossend Cement) which has been sitting on my PC for many months... it was written for msts, and I was going to try and re-write it to run smoothly in OR, but never got round to it :(

Currently in the queue (yawn) behind presumably several people downloading TTv3.

As soon as I can download it, I'll check it out.

Are you revising the other three activities?

You know what the answer is. I'll be brutally frank about this since it is getting tiresome reading your bleating. I have paid for premium for members I know have money issues. I was about to do that for you and then your response that money was not the issue stopped me before I made the call to the Site Admin to get that sorted out.

If you don't want to pay for "other reasons" then you will have to wait in the queue.
Kindest regards

Finally managed to download it and installed it.

Ran it through Route_Riter and Activity Analysis and loaded it into the Activity Editor, all with no issues flagged.

However, when I go to run it, it gets as far as the cab view but before it can load the smaller window with the activity description in it, MSTS crashes to desktop.

Never run into this before.

Solved it.

I apparently had too many activities in my stand-alone NWEv3 route. After moving a significant number of activities to a storage folder and moving the not-needed ancillary files to storage folders using Route_Riter, the activity loads and starts off okay.

Now to try to run it all the way through.

Hi johnbarron

Yes I will be revising and re-uploading the other 3 activities but unfortunately I'm now back at work, on nights, so progress will be very slow going.

Did that activity play through OK?
Kindest regards,
Simon.
