I too along with many others are eagely awaiting the completed version of this route. There was a hint 3 or 4 months ago that it could be available soon. However, I haven't heard any news about it recently. It would be real good if we could get some news with a roughly approx date of when it will be available, along with a progress report on how the project is going. But without putting pressure on the creator of the route.

As far as I am concerned Goingnorth gave us the impression 3-4 months ago that this route was not going to be upgraded. I may be wrong and I hope I am, but the only person to answer the question direct is Rob himself.

I just not going to get away with this one am I? :)

Okay, the full version of GNEReastcoast will be available, complete with stations, new masts and signalling plus lots of other goodies soon...I don't like giving dates, but soon!

Yep and it's freeware. Some of the stations will be default, but there will be custom stations too...should keep you happy anyway.

Download with minimal activites...and on CD with locos and stock...plus a special bonus...

That's very welcome news. I shall look forward to it, as along will a few thousand or so others!

OK, currently creating my debut freight activity. It will be a simple activity - basically going from A, picking up freight and delivering to B. But it will be a LONG activity, best experienced in one sitting. I just need a bit of help really. You will be departing from York, driving to somewhere, pick up the freight, and commence your journey to somewhere between Alexandra Palace and Kings Cross.

1) Which would be a good(and realistic) place to pick up freight enroute? Remember, you will be departing from York.

2) What would be the realistic freight your pick up?

3) And where would be a realistic destination to deliver the freight too? Somewhere between Alexandra Palace and Kings Cross if poss. Remember, this is a nice LONG activity!

If any of you have any realistic answers to those queries that would be much appreciated, as I don't have the slightest idea on how freight train operations work. If I don't get any help, then the activity will still be released but the scenario of the activity may not be very realistic!

Great news, been waiting for this one to be completed, to Deltic2002 the best place to pickup freight wagons would be Doncaster yard and takem all the way to Alexandra Palace, I to will be doing a long freight activity with freightliner wagons, not sure about locos but want to include a 57 or double 86s.

Cool, Rob. The route isn't my cuppa but it is probably the 2nd most popular UK route yet made, and it's completion will make a lot of people very happy, so cheers for finishing it.

Cheers for that suggestion. My activity involves you driving a Class 57. But I've put that project on hold for now, until maybe completion of the GNEReastcoast as it will best be appreciated once all the scenery and stations are in place.

In the meantime it's back to work with an upcoming surprise activity I'm working on, though not for this route.

At last Doncaster will be on the MSTS map,

though given the grief Rob has received in the past I wonder if it might have been better to keep quiet till the project was done & dusted.

But it is good news

I remember when Rob was about to post his beta route on this site and the comments that was flying about saying (Any news yet Rob when we shall see it etc) must have put Rob under a lot of pressure and i agree we should just leave him to get on with it in his own quiet way and that way we shall all be pleasently surprised when it appears on the site.

Last September I tried to create 2 activities based on a Class 50 railtour which took place that month. The first saw you drving from York-Finsbury Park in the morning. Whilst the second saw you driving from Finsbury Park back up to York in the evening. I was unsuccessful with both those activities because upon test driving them I was greeted with that error message during the course of the drive. So I gave up on those 2 activities. However, over the past week I tried to create both those activities again from scratch.........and guess what? Yep you guessed it, that darn error message again. So that's another 2 projects I've had to scrap. :(

............Goingnorth, will you be including Letchworth Garden City in your route? The trackwork needed is pretty much done anyway....well maybe only a few miles missing. Just needs the scenery and the station created. Anyway, not to worry if it's not included, as that would only be a small bonus anyway.

Looking forward to this route being available. I only wish I had the talent and patience(you certainly need patience) to create a real pro-typical route.

Deltic2002 can you pack up the activities for me to have a look at?? I made quite a few for it with no problems, see if I get the same errors??
