4F Goods for BTB
Hi,
I've just tried to run this activity but it just crashes to desk top ,just after the passenger tain passes the line the 4F is on,I've tried it with all sliders turned down just in case it was a resource prblem but it still crashes, now error message just total freeze and crash.

Re: 4F Goods for BTB
Hi Cody,
Thanks for this BTB activity; I particularly liked the interaction with the second AI train at the beginning. I completed the act, but didn't get the 'Activity Completed' message, although I was certain I had tripped all the RPs!
You must make sure you have the latest versions of Bristol Jubilees, Bristol Standard 5MTs, Bristol Standard 3MTs and Worcester Standard 2MTs because the earlier versions don't include the AI locos; I got caught out by this!
For information, I am using Tsection.dat v41 with Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit.
Sorry, Michael, but I can't think what your problem might be. I find that CTDs often happen with missing cabviews (doesn't apply in this case, i don't think) and insufficient sound buffers - make sure you have the latest soundcfg.dat file installed.
Regards,
Ged

Sorry Michael - I can't help you either.
I didn't have any problems with this excellent activity, and I managed to get the "Well done .. " and "Activity Completed" messages at the end.
Thanks Cody.

I too have had a problem. The activity loads to the point that the cabview appears for a fraction of a second and then it crashes to a black screen. I've tried a different Bristol 4F and even an NWC 4F but it still crashes. However, if I switch the 4F for a Black 5, it starts up okay. More tests to run methinks.

Managed to get it running with the original stock by "storing" all of the other activities in that Routes folder.
Michael are you using Trainstore?

Re: 4F Goods for BTB
Micheal,
I don't know what that is but it could be a resource issue. I've had that happen to me before on other routes.
I'm pretty sure though that it's not my act's fault, although it does leave a little to be desired so I'll probably release v1.3 sometime after I release Goods Run to Westerleigh v3.0. I think everyone will find this version more interesting.
Cheers and hope you figure this out.

Hi Cody,
Finaly got it to work seems for some unknown reason it was one of the tank loco's that was causing the problem just swapped it for a different one from the same batch and it worked ok typical MSTS being bl==dy minded.

Re: 4F Goods for BTB
There shouldn't be any need to change the loco. As noted above I did that at first to get it to work but later could run it with the original loco. I just had to make sure there were no other activites available at the same time. My guess is that the original loco is very resource-intensive and you need a "low-loaded" MNSTS before it will cope.

Re: 4F Goods for BTB
That's an odd issue you have, Bob. I have 4 routes, all locos/stock, and three acts on the BTB, unstored and I didn't have any problems like this.

Re: 4F Goods for BTB
I think that's because what will run before you get "resource overload" will depend on a lot of things like the version of the Bin patch that you're running, the actual machine you're running it on, whether you're using the memory switch, etc., etc.
