Does anyone know if it's possible to make an AI light engine couple up to a loose consist judiciously placed in its path (cunningly by a reversing point, of course) ?
I appreciate the the speed of the AI loco has to be carefully managed at such a critical point, but all my attempts have failed.
Either I get no couple-up or else I get a derail !
Can AI locos couple up to loose consists ?

i was thinking the same as it would be useful to cause the player service to be signalled down because of a consist in its path, then a loco comes along and pulls it out of the way.
but ive no idea how to do it if its possible.
The loco would also have to be triggered by the oncoming player service unless u had a reliable timetable. From my experiance its down to the limitations of the AE

I've managed to attatch an AI banker to a player train using the same idea but it always makes the game crash. I think i used a waiting point though cos the engine attached to the rear of my train. One more thing i noticed was the loco always comes to a halt after the waiting/reverse point usually hitting the train at about 10mph. so you need to move it about 1 coach length from the first wagon. It might also help to put in a speed restriction as the loco approaches. Anyway i hope this helps, might have a mess about myself. Let me know how you get on (Good Luck)

Do you want the really long technical answer?
