South Eastern Electrostar

Post by glasgowworks »

Following the 376 & 378 models built last year by myself, I would like to announce that I have produced the Class 375 model and I will release them shortly. Tonight, I have released the first pictures of the new models. There shall be variants of the 375 including 375/6 (with pantograph, but lowered all the time) and 375/8 (no pantograph).

The first model is 375/6, numbered 375602, in latest SouthEastern livery (without grey stripes):

This is the 375/6 type model and features pantograph (which is locked down). The 375/6 model have fewer seats on the Driving units, while the trailers have an aircraft style seating. The 375/6 have smaller headlights.

Secondly, we have the 375/8, numbered 375805, in South Eastern Trains livery with the latest "SouthEastern" branding:

This is the 375/8 type model. The interiors differ from the 375/8, the driving units have more seats but fewer tables, and trailer units have fewer seating but more tables. This train does not have a pantograph. Unlike the 375/6, they have larger LED headlights.

I will post more about the progress as it happens and, in the meantime, hope you like the models .

With Regards
Alistair Cowell

Will you be doing the Version with the Pantograph up? Im sure a lot of people would like this model, to go with the MML by EB, as it could be put into FCC livery.

Meantime - your models continue to amaze me - im sure you'll be as recognised as people like Anton. Dave Babb and Carl (Westwood) someday!

That is the good question. About the pantograph, probubly lock down all the time (like I did to the London Overground 378). The Class 375 is certainly going to be popular. The progress now is that the 375 models have been packaged and now ready to upload soon :D

Probubly yes. The first two are 375602 in white livery without grey stripe and 375805 in South Eastern livery with grey stripe. I'll do other liveries during next week :D

Looking very good! :D

A few other variations that could be done are:

New South Eastern livery as seen on 375624: http://www.craigrailpics.fotopic.net/p53144724.html
Plain White livery as seen on 375612: http://southwestrailways.fotopic.net/p49688886.html
A 375/3 or 375/9

610 had a golden stripe at the bottom and was named "Royal Tunbridge Wells" as seen here: http://southwestrailways.fotopic.net/p49688884.html. The stripe has since been removed but the name still remains.

I was meaning the difference between the 377 and 375. I thought the only difference was the coupling, and the fact they could have a pantograph fitted?

The 375/6, 377/2 and 377/5 have pantographs fitted, the rest is 750v dc only. The difference between is that the 377 have have CCTV for driver only operation and less generous seating. Both classes did have different couplers at some point during early 2000s (375 had Tightlock and 377 had Dellner couplers) In 2004 the 375 were converted to Dellner (375/8 and 375/9 delivered with Dellner coupling from new).

Heres the update about the progress:

375715 (South Eastern white without grey stripes) and 375607 (South Eastern Trains livery with grey stripes) have been finished off and has been packaged for uploading shortly. No pictures of both trains as of yet, but 375715 are the same as 375602 above but without it's pantograph, while 375607 has the grey stripe and old South Eastern logo.

I'm planning to do more class 375s, such as 375610 in jubilee livery and 375624 in new SouthEastern livery (with blue stripes that is). I'll do them in the weekend :D
