Hi. These are really nice. Exactly how I remember them, I used to work at Holmthorpe years and years ago. Thanks Simon, CU Eric

I've wanted these for ages but couldn't find a drawing.

Saved me some work. :D

One point.

The red background on a couple of aces shows at the bottom of the hopper and the unfitted running gear.
Easily painted out.

Hi there,

Any idea as to the period in rail history when these wagons were in use please?

Thanks for the comments Ian, I used the 1/164 line drawing as a starting point and made a backdrop using my texture. Mickrick I believe they were introduced into traffic for Iron Ore in 1958, this is a link to the site where I get my wagon pictures from http://gallery6801.fotopic.net/c1514222.html.

Three similar diagrams.

D163 25.5t 3000 Built Shildon 1955-7 Unfitted
D165 24t 400 BUILT SHILDON 1957 Fitted
D166 25.5t 700 Built Shildon 1959 Roller Bearings - 121 Fitted.

Roller bearings were added to earlier wagons as they became available from scrap wagons.

Simon, if you used the 164 diagram drawing you should have got it wrong but you didn't.
D166 were 17ft6 long with a 10ft wheelbase
D164 were longer in both body and wheelbase.

But your model looks OK.
