It's the old wagon wheel optical illusion that annoyed TV viewers on the titles sequence of Bonanza (remember that?)

It's caused by the wheel rotating slightly less than 360 degrees between each frame.
It can also make the wheel appear to rotate faster or slower than it should.

Each person will see it at different speeds depending on their frame rates.

Well i am having a try at working valve gear now. The same can then me used for the Barney, and perhaps with a little adaptation for the Ben.

At the moment the Highland route only extends as far as Achanalt in the Kyle direction. Perhaps if I can get back to route building again.... :-?

You're doing excellent things Darwin. :)

I'd like to see your route heading up to Craigellachie and then through the Glen of Rothes to Elgin etc, etc. :D but Iam slightly biased. :)

paulladd- I'm hoping to do both Caledonian liveries with the 0-6-0's, The 652 class were only painted in the Caley's goods livery of black with red and white lining but the 812's were both blue and black. Nos 812-828 were Westinghouse fitted so they were painted in the passenger blue with black and white lining. The rest of the class were painted in the black livery.

Metrobus. any news from the L & Y people?

John.

Nope, no luck from the L&Y people, not a single reply from them in over two weeks  . Maybe you might have some more luck than me.

Who made the L & Y models for the Settle and Carlisle 1920 route?

Metrobus: If you can find a photo of the interior of the tender, i.e. does it have a well for the coal, I'd appreciate it.

John.

I might be able to dig out some information. It will have a well for coal of much the same dimensions as the CR or HR tenders and large central tank filler like the LNWR tenders.
