rfletcher72 requested this so I'm trying to oblige. Here's work in progress:
A Tyseley-based unit:
From the Valleys:
The eagle-eyed will note red paint around the headlamps - I can't seem to remove this, so I think it must be mapped from an area on the front which is now unfortunately covered in red paint.
I'm not especially familiar with 116s (they rarely ventured in my neck of the woods) so any comments from those more familiar would be much appreciated.

hi there i know the class 116 dmus very well as the valleylines ones had gangway connections between the coaches where as the tysley units (west midlands) were not gangwayed between the coaches but were fitted after refurbishment. also the valleyline ones didnt have a red buffer beam later on as they got very dirty and full of grime after a while and were almost black.
can you tell me how things are going with that and how did do the shape etc and what with.

Absolutely brilliant Michael
Very impressive piece of WIP.
So much potential here, keep at it. Some of these sets were allocated also to Eastfield and Stratford
Thank you for being so obliging

Hi Michael
They look good to me.
There appears to have been many variations, so pick the right unit and all will fit ..... if anyones being picky.
You could use the earlier 120 file.... if you wanted the headlight.
(Although interiors won't match for these dense units)
Some seem to have had the upper marker light above the destination panel.
Cheers
Jon

This is a re-incarnation of James Hunt's class 101 model, retextured and re-worked by Jon Bilton as a class 120 and 114 (among other things!) and by me as a 119.
Richard: Glad you like it. Lots still to do!
Jon: Good point about the central upper headlamp and possible re-use of the 120 model - I'd overlooked that and that's why I chose one of the last batch, which don't appear to have been fitted with this headlamp. I think I might stick with this as I've already got this far. I had half-wondered about making a new interior model myself - but I haven't thought much about it yet.

Where will you get the centre coach?
There is not a good 101 centre coach and you can't use the 117 as it has a toilet.
Interior would be wrong with a 63ft Mk1 and the non corriders are 57ft.
You might find something among the SR EMUs.

Thanks, Ian. For the 119 I'd adapted what I think was the original 101 centre coach (Jon will correct me if I've got that wrong) and I was planning to use that, even though it's not satisfactory. But I could look around the EMUs - I'll give that some thought.

Hi
Yes that sounds about right to me.
If it looks wrong stre....tch it a bit in SFM.
The corridor connections will probably alpha out... if not required.
These are never going to be accurate models.... but better than nothing...well I think so.
Cheers

Have spent a bit of time making a new interior for the DMBS. Still some more tidying up to do on the exterior paintwork and I think I'll call it a day for the DMBS. Most of the groundwork is then done for the other cars.
