The Prototype 4-PEP

Post by glasgowworks »

In the early 1970s, the PEP stock ran on BR Southern Region and are designed to be used for commuter services. Two 4-PEPs, 4001 & 4002 were built in 1971, followed by a 2-PEP in 1972. They ran in passenger service for a few years.

I have been doing the 4-PEP this week and is just finished, still to be tested at the moment. Here it is, numbered 4001:

Looking good, basics look right but the front end does look a little sharp compared to the real thing

More progress on 4001 tonight. The window wipers was added, set numbers added and changed Shape file a little.

It appears UKTrainSim is all quiet on the western front today as it is christmas; however I've done 2-PEP model today. It didn't take long, just half an hour to convert to 2 Car PEP unit. It have not been taken to MSTS rails yet, but here it is :D

I might be mistaken, but didn't the 4-PEP have 3 passenger doors. (Its one reason why I've never bothered, too much work to change a 455).

**Edit** Only the middle cars do, so ignore me...
