Post by dee4141 »

..........but it's getting there slowly. No tender either and the textures are still provisional but it's gradually taking shape - any guesses to the class?

Looks more like a 4-6-0 than a mogul (which both the N and U Classes are). It an S15?

An N15X it is. There were only 7 in the class - this one's "Stephenson".

Kieran, you could give it an independent test if you like, before I upload - but it won't be ready for a few weeks yet though.

Hehe, cheers.

That would be great, and you can guarantee there will be some shots from me too.

S15's are the only Southern 4-6-0 I can think of off hand - don't know a great deal about Southern classes really... Was right about the wheel arangement - any sort of credits I can claim for that

Looking great though, honestly wish I was even half as talented as you at modelling or texturing...

This looks like it is going to be a fine model.

The N15X started out as the LBSCR L Class 4-6-4T Baltics, designed by Billington and built between 1914 and 1922. Maunsell rebuilt them to 4-6-0s in 1934. They were known as the Remembrance class, after 2333 (BR 32333) which was the LBSCR memorial to railwaymen who lost their lives in World War I.

Any chance of 2333 appearing as well?

Lots more information on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SR_N15X_class .
Alan

My railway photos are now on Google + - links to the albums are in this thread http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=149558

Lots of steam and early diesels from 1959 to 1963.

If this one turns out OK Alan, then I could do a reskin as 2333 - it would look quite nice in a Maunsell dark green.
