Some shots of them 'on location' in my Oxford route:

By my reckoning there are only 15 of the class which are not yet available in MSTS. I'd like to do some in the variations of NSE livery, but this will be a little more challenging for my limited skills...

Great stuff........ can't beat a Hoover.
If you have any textures I originally did ,feel free to re-use.
I keep meaning to get round to uploading them here.
Cheers

I've yet to introduce it to Sam's new 442 - cue for an activity set in the late '80s between Waterloo and Basingstoke.

Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate my texturing isn't exactly up to the standard of some of the masters on this site  but I wanted to put Tim Court's excellent model to good use, particularly as they suit my Oxford route rather well (even though it's set in the present day).

Martin: DEE4141 has reskinned the model in BR blue for 50013 and 50017, as you might be aware (and if are aware at least I've plugged these great models for the benefit of others!):

And Jon Bilton has done D402:

I hadn't intended to do anything pre-TOPs as I grew up with TOPS, and my clearest and earliest recollections of 50s are pretty much from when they were going through refurbishment, rather than pre-refurbishment; but I could certainly have a crack at doing some in blue with headcodes and TOPS numbers.

Great,Pre Electric Scot era, before the wires Crewe-Glasgow i remember the 50's well,i didnt like what they did to the 50's when they started moving west after the power was switch on in 1974 Crewe to Glasgow.

Call me old fashioned, pre tops era and no name plates look better to me in real life.

Each to his taste ;)

I'll see what I can do...though Tim's model is post-refurbished so it won't look entirely authentic.

One pre-TOPS version without nameplate - D409, seen here at New Street backing onto an Anglo-Scottish express at New Street:

A problem I have - which is why I haven't yet released it - is that the textures are coming out in low quality in MSTS, as you can see here, although they're fine in ShapeViewer:

I'm doing exactly the same as I've done for most other of my class 50 reskins (although I know some have a 'dither' effect which I need to cure and will probably release a patch for), i.e. TGATools 2a, exporting Ace (-Trans) with only mipmaps and compression selected. Can anyone explain why the textures look low quality? I will reiterate that the texture looks fine in ShapeViewer.

When loading the shape in ShapeViewer, have you got 'Low Quality Textures' selected? That will give you a better impression as to how it will look in the sim.
