Thanks Robert.
Took a bit of working out for a novice lile me.
Spent some time trying to rename the internal SD file, which of course made no difference. So then I thought
Do they mean rename actual S and SD file? Surely that wont work!!! Anyway I did, It did and the end result is an excellent
30850 and BR tender.
Usually the only things I will alter are the Couplings from Automatic to chain or vice versa Sound and Cab view files.
Not very computer orintated I am afraid but I do remember seeing the Real 30850 Lord nelson go past my school some 50
years ago.
Cheers

The version of 850 recently released has absolutley nothing to do with my version so i am unable to help you there. Work is progressing on my model slowly but surely so i hope that a release date is not a million miles away. Might post some updated pics in a day or so.

Heres a couple of images of the loco working its first train. A number of issues not sorted in these pics, including alpha channels on some textures, engine tender gap and lack of smoke. Hope you like the look of it.

Richard that's brilliant mate and on a par with Danny's N15/N15x and MN will you be doing it with out deflectors or Lord Howe's mods (think i got that right)
Just to let you know the L1 is almost done (Engine 90-93%/Tender 96%)

Thanks, i will indeed be doing it without deflectors and different cylinders tenders etc but i will make sure this mode is 100% complete and running and then modify it from there. As for Lord Howe I might give it a bash as i have several pics of it but i don't have a pic of the nameplate.
Good to hear about the L1 looking forward to it.

Richard, that does look nice - especially in Maunsell Green.

Here is just a quick update to show off the loco as she currently stands, not much work to do now.

Now that this version of Lord Nelson is nearing completion I want to model other variants of the class but have run into some confusion concerning the shades of green used. The colours I am concerned with are Maunsell Olive Green and Sage Green. I believe
This is an example of the Olive green but could do with some pointers as to the other livery. I have great references for when the locomotives carried the liveries but all I have are B&W pictures which whilst they help with lining out isn't much good for colours.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Looking good, looking good
Might use this in my WSR Autumn 06 Gala acts when I release them with the others. Currently using Dave Robinson's model.

Richard, I think that getting the colours right is particularly difficult. Even in photographs, the same colour can vary with different lighting conditions. I think that if you find something that looks reasonable to you then you should just go for it. As long as your respective Sage,Maunsell, Malachite and Brunswick are different, you're most unlikely to get criticism.

That would be fine Danny, if I knew what the colours looked like in the first place all i have seen are B&W pics of the liveries. I am guessing that
this of 1638 is Olive green, whilst
this of 847 is the sage green? Once I know this I can play around with these colours until I am happy.
I'll also show you this shot of Nelson as she was recently, few other little bits added but pretty much finished now.
Thanks for the help and encouragement guys.

Richard I can't really help with the Sage/Olive greens (I've never used these) , but I will say that the colour you have on LN just now looks like Maunsell Green to me. Malachite is softer and not so bright. If you're using PSP I could let you know the colours I've used in general if you like - this might give you a starting point if nothing else.
