Re: Class 210 Prototype DEMU
Will it be in BR Blue Grey Livery? It would be nice to drive it on one of the branchlines on the upcoming MidEastPlus route, glasgowworks wrote:The Prototype Class 210 Diesel electric mutipule unit has been completed. Still to complete Installer and should then be uploaded.

Re: Class 210 Prototype DEMU
I have memories of travelling on these from Hayes ( & Harlington) to Taplow in the earlyish morning; got a feeling of a decent train.
It seems v successful using the 455 cab together with the HST sounds.
However
On the model i am finding a lack of power - i can't get from one end of Elsenham to Thaxted, or back, due to the smallish inclines between with the 4 coach set; a journey I can do with Thomas, Anne and Clarabel!!!
Am i missing something??
Many thanks
Basil

Re: Class 210 Prototype DEMU
Hi
I don't know, but when driving from the reverse cab the brakes are not releasing fully....... so that might account for the slow speed ?
Looking through the eng files there is a mixture of twin and single air pipes however changing these didn't help.......so I'll keep trying.
Nice re-skins.
Cheers

Re: Class 210 Prototype DEMU
I have resolved the problem and upgraded to meet DEMU standard. Braking issues have also been resolved. Ill upload them as soon as possible.
Re: Class 210 Prototype DEMU
Many thanks; I look forward to the new version.
(My previous comment on the journey from Elesenham was from the goods yard; when i let the set roll back to the station and then took off with 100% power I did get through to the far end achieving speeds towards the top end of the 210's speed range - however it was touch and go on the first incline!!! My practical memory of the ride of the real thing was of a powerful unit without all the clatter from the standard 107 DMU.)
Thanks
Basil

Re: Class 210 Prototype DEMU and now class 457
Done the class 210 DEMU and has been released for a few weeks now. Now here is what happened to Class 210 after being withdrawn around 1987. Some vheicles from both units were converted to Class 457 Networker Prototype EMU in 1989. As a result, DTSO became DMSO. During it's carrier the Class 457 did carry passengers.
About the model, it is in it's final stages and will release shortly. We have granted permission from Ben Laws today. So watch out for the class 457!
