class87 and class89

Post by warriorgoku »

Just thought I would tell you guys that I am not dead.

I have been very busy these past few weeks and I might be moving up to scotland, but I probably won't be though.

I have done no texturing for the class87 and class89 but they are both basically completed interms of modelling.

If anyone knows how to do texturing in gmax and would like to give it a go, please email me or send me a private message and I will send it to you.

I won't have time to learn to do texturing in gmax until everything gets sorted out.

The class89 also needs to be textured

I didn't want them sitting on my hard drive for much longer as i'm sure some of you are eager to get your hands on them.

I like the 87 - absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong but an 86 is only a front window pane different?

Get a half decent texture on this and someone will have to do it justice with a "TimCourt Quality" WCML to go with it...

Oh - and the 89 looks good too!

the 86 is more than a front window, the lights are in different places
the 86 has a headcode panel, cabling is different, technically the bogies are different
and the majority of 86's don't have the high speed pantograph
and maybe the grill on one side are different (not sure about this one)
it could be altered fairly easily but its a little bit more than just a texture job
suspending with pain the WCML (fict)

how many polys are each one of those?
Looks like you've modelling the bogies too.
Nice models but might hit frame rates hard.

The polygons are high, in the 10000 range.

The biggest difference between the 86 tothe 87, is that the 86 has that funny arm type pantograph and the windows and front/rear are different.

Please accept my apologies for assuming simple differences between 86's and 87's

I really must leave this kind of thing to the experts!
