EH2 - 86233 ALSTOM Heritage

This is my first reskin and it has turned out sort of all right so I thought I would show off some of the 6 hours of off and on work

Things that are currently wrong with 86233

No cabside numbers
86220 layer still showing thru slightly
Nameplate is too long
Yellow front is square when it should be curved at edges

Here is some piccies

Side view #1

Front View

Side view #2

Nameplate view

and thanks goes to Tim Court for releasing the Reskin packs
Please be gentle with comments as it is my first reskin

Hope this is of some interest
Cheers
Bruce

Looking very nice, I see you have followed the instructions.

OK if I may, the Colour looks to be the wrong shade of blue, if you drop me an email asking for an electric blue swatch I will send you one which is done from a bunch of pictures and is pretty close.

Namepate, OK you can make a new one or shorten it using the transparency channel in Parts.tga which is the texture where the nameplate lives.

If you need any help drop me line and i'll see about helping out - I also have the BR Crest for the Electric blue era loco's.

Hi Bruce

a nice start for a first reskin, its looking nice so far :) but Tim has beaten me to it shouldnt eat pizza whilost posting, i was going to say the blue is a touch dark and it appears to be sat on the class 87 bogies

That might be because of the source models chosen, thats ok for now since the textures are interchangeable for the most part.

Hi Guys,

I have followed Tims Colour sheet he gave me and here are the results after a couple of hours of progress

Well here we are 86233 ALSTOM Heritage in Electric Blue (Version 2 paint job)

Side view #1

Front View

Side View #2

Nameplate view (look it has been shortened)

Things that are still wrong but I will try to sort

86220 Alphas still showing through
Yellow part at front is pointy at edges when it should have a curve in the edges
Cab numbers have not been put on but I aim to have a crack at these today

Other than these differences I think it is looking pretty good so far

Cheers

Bruce, BIG Difference there well done!

OK one last thing, add another layer of Electric blue by duplicating the layer you already did, add this as a "Normal" layer then fade it back to a very low amount so you can still see the details, it will take a little of the "Shine off and richen the blue colour, apart from that, couldn't have done it better myself :)

PS: When you are done making the textures, transfer Cab1, Body and Cab2 to one of the other 86/2's your model has the 87 Bogies which were on the 86/1's only, if you get stuck I can suggest a model for you.

Bruce, I am going to export a new model for you with 2 seperate number slots at each end, I'll put the model up here since it will be useful for others who want a 4 poster as well.

Bear with me and I can sort one out, the engine files etc are up to you though.

Ok Bruce, all yours! I have done a 4 poster for you, and have the numbers 2x2 so you can do different ones at each end.

Check the downloads page.
Hope this helps.
