Coupling engines nose to nose problem

Post by judith »

If you couple two engines (steam) nose to nose you cannot uncouple them. You get a message saying these trains cannot be uncoupled.

Does anyone have any ideas to overcome this?

Thanks,

Judith.

Do the locos have both bar and chain or bar and auto coupling? If so, I suspect once they're coupled, MSTS thinks there's a bar in between them and won't let you uncouple them. Try changing the bar coupling to something else in the .eng files and see if that helps.

I'll give it a try.

If there are two coupling statements in the .eng file, the "Bar" should not be changed. It is the order which is important. The "Bar" should be the first entry, followed by "Chain" or "Automatic". This is in the revers order in the tender .wag file.
