AFAIK that just crashes if you use zoom 4 from it or view 3,4 or 5 and view its insides.
Yes, thats surley what is being looked for, its a poly overload.!

May be wrong though.

That 158 is an interesting model - made with 3D canvas, it is right on the limit.

Is Steve still active on the forums? - I've got a few suggestions that would probably knock the poly count down by 10% without changing the model.

My current version loads all shapes for WAG/ENG and CON files too.
That's great, thanks! :)

I have a strange view 4 one. It seems to be related to the number of objects (even if merged ) in the model and not how many polygons.

Never come across this. I have a class 6PAN with vents gutters etc on the roof. The whole model is slightly more than 6 kuju's. Its a crash to desktop or a hang with polys smeared over the screen on an overhead view 4. Remove any 5 items and it works great. I even reduced the poly count to an artificially low level so they are much less than that of 5 items (ie substituting cubes for multi faceted items) and its still the 5 item rule. I modified the hierachy numerous ways and its still any 5 items?

Since I can't find rhyme nor reason for this oddity (elimination of items 1 by 1 has no effect until I reach 5 ) and after spending over 50 hours trying to track the problem down I am now rebuilding the model from scratch.

I'm just wondering if this falls into the category that Paul is requesting?

The Andrew Barclay 0-4-0ST by Reg Furniss doesn't display in SViewer. Do you want me to send it to you?

I think the Andrew Barclay tank crashes because the .S file in the download is uncompressed. Compress the file (with RouteRiter) and it appears OK. The reskinned versions (NCB no.12 and the breweries versions on the Burton Derby CD) are fine.

Thanks ... compressing the file fixed the problem! :)

Shape Fixer 1.0 released
This should allow much larger poly models to run in MSTS.

Note - you probably need Shape Viewer or Route Riter installed first (hopefully most of you already have)

Any problems - or successes - please let me know.

This is the first version, I can always improve on it later.

Sorry Dan - I can't find where I put your Britanniafile, I've hidden it somewhere on a memory stick or one of my 3 PC's.
At least you'll be able to process it yourself now.

Oh - and please read the readme.htm file, especially the bit about shape viewer 1.6 not displaying correctly after the fix
