American big boy?

Post by wrightsie »

i have downloaded the american big boy from train-sim.com, but wondered why this magnificent loco isnt on this site? its power is unbelievable, and it dosent look that out of place on the defualt settle and carlise pulling the full rake of orient express cars{23}. to continue praising this loco i will add this,
sat at washington station{north east corridor}, "signal off, brakes off, reverser.. 70, blower on, firebopx doors open and shovelling, dmapers on, guard.... ready to start, open the regualtor 15%, glance at the speedo, 25mph already and gaining speed fast, check train.... all 23 cars attached, close cylinder cocks wind back the reverser to 35% cut off open regulator, boiler pressure.... 310 and climbing get the picture?
Steam trains an art work, not kettle boiling, welsh nuggut burning, moving scrap!!!

Correct, the .eng file that comes with it is "unbelieveable". That's because it's pure fiction! Do a search on these forums for Big Boy to find out what needs to be fixed to make it's performance a bit more realistic.

Maybe its because this is UKTrainsim and we tend to go for British items on here. There are plenty enough foreign sites to go browsing for things like that....

If you want the corrected version of the Bigboy files just leave your email
address and I'll send them to you, as Saddletank said they are pure fiction or email me at mail@crick14a.freeserve.co.uk .............Rick
