Hello, Fellow Train Modelers;

I thought I'd try to build the engine for MSTS after a good friend supplied me with a set of Ian Beattie plans of the little 0-6-0. However, I'm a bit mystified by the device attached to the right side crosshead guide hangar.
It seems to be a crosshead driven water or lube pump, but I can't be sure.
Of course, most of the few photos I have are of the left side. Can any of you steam wary railfans over there shed some light on this for me?
Information on British steam is quite rare in the States.

I think, but don't hold me to this, that it's a vacuum pump for the brakes...not sure as i say, but it may be of help...

Now that makes sense. Crosshead driven water pumps were common over here, early on, but never vacuum brakes. I wouldn't have thought of it. The pump on the 1369 dosen't have the myriad of copper lines leading from it, which would have suggested a lube pump.
