BTW, the picture of that bogie looks great.
BUT it is rather high poly modelling for something that will never be seen in any detail.

Very strange..
As for Rusells request on the 375....as that model was only a quick hack, the current version should be considered as a 'community' version, and as the readme said, repaints are allowed.
I tried that and got a 'hotlinking error occurred'. Maybe I am destined never to see it!

Not neccerarly, the whole thing as it stands is about 6000 polys, it is rather low, considering the fact that my orginal 470 was about 20,000 polys!
The bogies are about 1700polys each, desipte the detail. And the reason why the traction motors are there, is that I dont like bare axles! I also had to get rid of the flanges, since I didn't have a texture for them.
I didn't particuarly like the 375 bogies, since you could see an axle from the outside, and it was bare, no motors, no nothing, and that was visable!

yep, and an entire 4 car voyager set is only 8000 polys.
Low poly modelling is the way to go sorry.
If I want it to only run on top end systems then I can build a 20,000 poly model too, but I want it to move on most systems.

At the moment, the 479 is only designed to run in multiple of anthor 479 (upto 4 sets) or a DTCL, Which wont have a lot of polys, due to the fact that, A, it don't need shoes, b, it don't need traction motors, C, it won't need most of the underframe equipment, and D, cant think of one!
I estimate that the DTCL will be something like 3500-4000 polys overall!

I always thought a 'truce' was where both parties in a war stopped attacking each other........
So far, to the best of my memory, I have never said any much against your goodself. So you can't have a truce where only 1 person needs to stop!
Yesterday you were calling me an idiot, and today you are trying to bribe me into helping you with a route?
Let me get a few things straight..
a) I am not going to be bribed.
b) I only help people out, who I have some respect for, and just to be 100% clear, anyone who thinks I'm an idiot, and publically says so for no as yet explained reason is not going to have my respect.
c) I don't do buildings or routes anyway, so theres not alot I would be able to help with even if you'd asked nicely.
I normally do not take pot shots at anyone, unless I have been attacked first, so all you need to do is talk to (or about me) in an adult, mature way, and we'll get along just fine.
You are correct, there are no 442's or 458's on this site yet. but I don't understand what the point of that statement was anyway.

you blew up at me when i suggested a competion to see who could make the best 442's, so i told everybody exactly what i thought of them when they started ranting on{442's that is}, now i apoligised for that, the point of my statement about 442's and junipers is that, you have a screen shot of one{juniper}, and two or three people claim to be building 442's, so when will they be on. now i'm being adult here, no more name calling or abusing 442's etc, i apoligised for my comments, even after being called a loser! heres my email address,
wrightsie@hotmail.com, email me and we'll talk, so we dont culter up the forum, i'm interested in learning skills now,no sucking up and no name calling, just a plain apology and a request for help to some one who claims to be adult and experienced{no, not an insult, a observation}

2 things to say,
A) I am the complete and utter idoit, or anything you want to call me for starting this subject off.
B) I know I have been bad, (and I admit and I would publicly apogise!). But (excuse me for saying this!), in my view, you are both acting as bad as each other, please, stop the subject of name calling, bickering, bi***ing, taking the mick, or anything else to each other.
C) Due to my bad times, with the LOD editor in GMAX, and the compicatedness of 3D canvas and the complicated tutorials, I have given up for making models for MSTS
PERMIATELY!!!!
And I can gather, many people must be glad! I cannot produce an item without it acting like a POS or looking like a POS, for one day! It's too hard!
