...
It really does look 'spot on'

Deltic you say ?, funny you should say that

, but first a couple of smaller locos.
Hopefully tomorrow ( after night shift ) l'll sort the class 40 windows and cut the rest, the poly count is ok but in all the wrong areas, making afreight anim addon difficult, its them damn bogies and hoses, dont really want to drop the quality down, but l've a few tricks left. Probably do a disc version and center headcode too.
Once l'm out of the poly bending frenzy l'll paint some

.
Best

That looks brilliant, about time somebody did a decent 40 !, my lack of knowledge of 3DSMax really held me back. Cant wait to see it finished, I may even download it and dust off my MSTS installation. Looking foward to the Deltic, somebody did a really naff one some years ago, wonky vertices all over the nose !.

Hi Michael,
I have only properly studied a Class 40 in the past year....before my interest in diesels wasn't much. I have to say, you have captured the essence of which has dragged me onto the scene of what I used to call "boxes on wheels". The classic English Electric look that both the Deltics and the Class 40's had....the Co-Co wheels arrangements, the headcode boxes/headlamp boxes, the protruding noses from the main body, the cureved front cab windows......need I say more?
There's something about early UK diesel locomotives ( when I say early.....basically class 01 up to 55 ) that always draws me. Not only in looks, but power and how they had to show it off....either by clagging or by growling......oh how I kick myself for not being born a decade or two earlier.
To sum up in a few words which represent that lecture......stunning model mate.....can't wait to see it textured aswell
