Working on a Q1 for the Steyning CD, but need some help from you Southern fans.
Can anyone help with tender details/pics? and what lettering is on the cab sides with the number.
Cheers......Reg[/img]

Very nice Reg :D

Think this might be of use:

I think the wheels could do with a few more sides - it is very noticeable with the Q1's design when you use low poly wheels.

Looking forward to the final version.

Dan

If you look at that hornby link you will see how short the cab roof is. This was then joined to the tender by a rubber strip that keeps the cab as hot as hell! Apparently when an engineman finally found the draughtsman he asked why the roof was so short and the cab so hot, the guy replied "oh well I just got to the edge of my piece of paper"!!

Anyway, lovely model! Will you be doing any of the motion?

Hi Reg
Very nice...I hope you'll upload it to the library as well. :P
I'm not a big steam fan...but strangely they have an appeal for me.
Cheers

Nice model but I agree that the wheels and perhaps the front boiler section need more polys to smooth them out.

Kim Durose modelled the Q1 some time ago; it's available as a free download from the Blue Arrow site.

For more information on the prototype try:

Hi
Yes...thats the one.
I have to say I was a little disappointed it was remodelled on the BATs Southern DVD.
