fadedglory's model is fine though? It seems you're building new stuff for everything, and even though Reg's models are fantastic, whats the point?

trainmad - yes fg's model is very good but you know the old modellers adage - "Every model can be made better"
Besides, having a newer more detailed model is more of an incentive to buy the pack than simply putting in a reskinned model that is available as freeware.

Yes, but how many people who buy the pack are going to know?

Well, considering that most people who know about it at the moment are members of UKTS I would guess a high proportion of the number of buyers will know!

Maybe the NNR team want realy detailed models (internal motion for example), if so, who are we to question them?

I'd prefer I new model, I won't want to part with my money just for a collection of freeware reskins (No offence ment whatsoever to the freeware models, I value your efforts and contributions most highly!).

Good point

The saying " it's a free world" springs to mind here
Also I seem to remember that a certain group are re-doing the NVR pack, updating the current product, that's quite an undertaking to upadate a whole route in the manner you have stated in another thread. A very similar thing is happening here with the J15, but on a much smaller scale, so in that case why not follow your own principles and make a route that hasn't been done before?

We are in effect, making a new route out of the old one. But are we taking the route from scratch and building a new one? No, because thats what seems to be happening in this situation. Principles? What Principles?

I can see both sides of the coin myself.
While I can see the point of the 'why is there a new one when theres one done' brigade ( EG It'd be better to build something never done before instead of whats been done ), I can also understand that at the end of the day, its Regs choice what he builds, and i'll decide which I prefer when both are available
I think the best thing to do now is see how Reg gets on with his model....i'll be looking forward to it.
David
( NB:- Dinmore, NVR is a different situation. We are not only updated something that has already been constructed, using the original files, we are adding a whole plethora of new items. As far as I can see, Reg is building a J15 from scratch. Therefore, it is absurd to compare both situations )

Why do i feel like this is something very similar to what i said to you on msn last night when you were having a moan to me about it? If i recall you just said "sigh" then left the convo.
