Jascott,
I'll have a go at the eng file to get it going 'adequately'.I have done a fair amount of them...
1crick14a will 'finish' it when he has time.
I sent him a PM a few days ago but no answer and haven't noticed him on the forum..

Well as we're all flexing our rendering skills :)

Only taken a year to get the windscreen and nose the right shape!, still not 100% happy. Shame they never look that good in the sim :(.

Best regards

Michael,

Boy am I glad you lost the toss over the class 50! was wondering when this was going to make an appearance - now what we need are the Old Bull nosed versions and we are all set!

Edit: By the way should we change this thread title to something like "Modellers showcase"

Is it me, or are all these models just getting better & better, well done

It's a pitty that not enough modelers are making steam loco cabs :(

Anyway, enough of my moaning

Tim,

Well it made sense, you had a part built class 50, l had a part built Warship ( originally intended for the Southern pack ) so l figured an update was required.

Heres another going through works, converting from alpha windows to cut outs like the Warship. Still needs more work on the cab corner / roof posts ( couple of polys in torsion there l can see ), those will show up badly in sim.

Image

Do agree we need an original Warship and a new Hymek and class 22, but right now l'm like you, really tied up in other more important stuff :).

l've a few others stacked away but l'm waiting for the new sim's and MSTS just ruin's any good modeling with its shoddy graphic's engine IMHO.

Best regards

Michael

PS Just in case anyone's fretting over super smooth high poly model's, the Warship is 11,708 and the Class 26 8140 but that'll grow to about 10,000 when finished.

Ok, this might seem like a stupid question but...

What program are people rendering these locos in and is it easy to do?
They look wonderful with the full shadows!

Cheers, Chris

Chris, all models here cover a number of renderers and Modeling programs, Mine are TSM Believe it or not and rendered in shape viewer - the shadows etc are put on the model while texturing, the other models in here I suspect are taken directly from 3D Canvas or Povray - Not sure what the Gmax users are using.
