Hi all
Can i ask how to make a cylinder with one end domed over?
And how do you put a cylider in at a diaganale angle,ie:sloping slightly down?
Thanks

I'd do it by using the template tool, sweeping it in 360 degrees, then angling it with the rotate tool..

When making the demountable tank wagon, I found it easier to make the end seperately using the same dimensions as the barrel.
I used 2 sections and, after texturing it, dragged the outer two rings of points in to make the dome.
I copied and flipped the end and joined them to the barrel and then rotated it.

In two parts, a tube for the cylinder and a sphere with the bottom cut off for the dome.

Join the cylinder and the dome and rotate the new part around the x-axis.
I usually make the cylindercovers as separate parts (split off from the original tube) to avoid funny effects when smoothing the tube.

Use the sphere tool and cut in half. Make sure you have ploy smoothing on too.
