Its is normally a well known fact the payware models are usually better than freeware, but to be honest both will be as good as each other. If you want the route and the loco you get the MT one, if you just want the loco you use the UKTS one, both are good in there own wrights.

"The three locos originally modified with new bogies as a prototype for the Class 87 were classified Class 86/1 under TOPS and numbered 86101-86103. No. 86102 is seen at Carlisle in March 1978. This loco sports sealed-beam marker lights in its original headcode box, but has yet to be fitted with a headlight or any form of multiple control jumpering. To allow high speed running, these were some of the first Class 86s to be fitted with Brecknell Willis high speed pantographs. CJM."

I believe one of these locos has been scrapped, and one is at Shoeburyness, correct me if i'm wrong, with the other at the AC Loco Group
They were passed for 110mph, and found their way onto Birmingham services quite often, I believe.

Sorry john what do you mean by that post?
i know of the three 86/1 with the 87 motors and bogies but these were the only ones that were fitted with these.
i posted on the making tracks forum and buffy has since replied stating
many of the errors i pointed out they know about are waiting for a new model from tim.
Of course if you haven't guessed the class 86 model is Tim Courts.
Also there seems to be some discrepency with the swallow livery,
in all the years i was around these loco's they had red nameplates
which coincidently was the 1987-90's period, now at some point they seem to have changed to black nameplates but when was this?

Yes Alex 86103 was scrapped
and now it looks like 86102 is going to join it as it been moved to err.. where you just said.
Actually more than these three 86's were certified for 110mph operation
a few 86's were fitted with the high speed pantograph and were certified for 110mph operation
being from coventry i can clarify they were regulars on the midland loop

Scrapped at Caerwent a couple of weeks back..........as seen on http://www.wnxx.com - there was a pic of it on a low loader in the Midlands somewhere.BR7MT wrote:I think I must have the cab main reservoir pressure gauge off of 86102 then (went down to Shoebury yesterday to pick it up).
No sign of the loco there though.
