Bill and Ben: A Massive Favour?

Post by srbaandrews »

I've just built my first 3D loco for MSTS which is Brendam Bay's 'Bill' based loosely on a Bagnall 0-4-0ST. I used the standard version of 3DCanvas which doesn't have the functionality to export MSTS files and was wondering if anyone would be so kind as to take it off my hands and make it work in MSTS. It's already got some rudimentary animation and I'm pretty sure that all that needs to be done is to put it through the Trainsim Wizard.

I know the obvious answer would be 'Buy it yourself' but I don't know if I'd even use it again. What's more I'd let you take all the credit  (not that it's an utter masterpiece, but it does look pretty good.)

Well, that's it. If you're interested and a very kind person, post here and I'll email it to you.

Yip, same result as david, even though when you did p/m me we did discuss that there was a tiny issue on height

I think I've completed the final version, just going to email it to decapod to convert it so it's just a matter of time now before I get it all finished, all I'll have to do after that is adjust the eng file to fit the slightly altered height and cylinder poisitions and then do a new texture for ben and it'll be sorted.

Sorry to pitleyfalley but the final version will be up in no time so hold your horses and you can have that instead.

Anyone else have any suggestions before I finish it off?

Also, I've started working on Donald and Douglas. I've pretty much built them and the shape's all there but I need some decent pictures of their liveries and tenders, can anyone help with that? (It's damned confusing making black engines in 3DCanvas, I can barely see what I'm doing)

Also, just for fun I'm having a bit of a go at making Harold when I'm bored, the only real problem I can see (other than tunnels) is getting his blades to continue spinning when he's stationary, does anyone have any idea how to make the animation run independant of the engine's velocity?

Cheers

How about animating them as windscreen wipers.

I can only think of the wipers too. Would be the same speed regardless. But maybe not spin fast enough.
